Did any one buy the TSX with a dealer installed alarm system? What kinda functions does the alarm system have?

I'm trying to find if there is an alarm system on the market that can be used with the factory remote control. So far, the ones I've seen come with different remote control, but I like to use the factory remote control.

I can't imagine why a dealer would do an installation since the TSX includes an alarm system. Is there something wrong with the TSX's alarm?

 

Well, according to Acura's website, the alarm system that they're descibing doesn't seem to have the starter kill and shock features. I know that the car can't be started without the proper key, but trust me, the immobilizer can be bypassed. I don't know how to bypass it, but I know people have tried it.

I also understand that if a professional car thief really wants your car, he can get it even there is an alarm, club, or whatever it is on the car. But it's just a peace of mind for me to have that kinda features.

 

i'm happy with the stock alarm... but i guess it all depends on what area you live in. what part of socal are you from? i'm from the valley and i don't need to worry often.

 

I have a compustar spread spectrum alarm and remote start on my CLS. You cant use your factory remote but it can be setup to arm and disarm the factory alarm. Honestly unless you need soemthign extra like maybe more range or aux functions like window control or remote start dont bother messing with an additional alarm. The factory alarm doesn't have a starter kill because the key has a transponder chip in it.
