seatbelt warning
Took delivery of my new 06 and the car is great. but the seatbelt warning bell is
driving me crazy. I dont wear my seat belt so the bell is going off every 2-3 mins. of driving. is there a way to turn this off beside wearing the belt?

The airbag is designed to work with the seatbelt. If you dont have your seatbelt on, in a wreck, your head will hit the steering wheel first before the airbag deploys. Then when the airbag does deploy, it will whack you upside the head at over 200mph. I'm going to assume that this is not a good feeling.

um
did you try holding down the seat belt thingy, to trick the system to think that the seatbelt is on?
that works with the lincoln towncar..i duno if it'll work with the tsx, but its worth a try

You knew you'd get this kind of response, right? Wear your freakin' seatbelt!
But if you insist on putting your life in danger, just get another seatbelt plug connector and snap it in place.

its like geico, 15 minutes could save you 15%
2 seconds to put on your seatbelt could save 100% of your life.
do the right thing! if not for yourself, then for anyone that cares for you. (i sound like my parents)

I just cut my seat belt and plugged the buckle in to the thingy to shut it up. Seatbelts are dumb!
JK! Wear your frggin seat belt already. Use the time it takes to buckle it to let your car warm up enough for the oil to get to the lifters.

Go find a junked TSX or a car that has the same seatbelt buckles.
Cut it off the belt, and click it in. That will bypass the warning.
It's a stupid idea, though. Seatbelts save lives. Why are you refusing protection? Would you ever work construction without a hard hat and steel-toed boots?

And to further the point, if anyone posts a way to disable this that post will be deleted. As Dan Martin said in one of the threads linked above, this site will not be responsible for information on how to remove safety features of your car.
