Scratch/Dent lease agreement
I'm currently under a lease ('05 6MT) and my car has it's share of nicks being as though it's parked in a city environment. Is anybody familiar with the scratch and dent lease agreement?

I believe you have 1500 of incidental coverage on a AHFC lease. If my memory is correct it covers scratches/ dings (up to $100) until you have reached the 1500 limit. A lot of it has to do with the individual inspector.

You should have recieved an information package from AHFC when you initiated the lease. In it they provide a Self Inspection Reference Card with guidelines for estimating potential excesive wear and use for interior, exterior, tires, safety items, and glass. I'd give them a call for another one if you can't find yours.

As noted earlier, you get $1500, and up to $500 per panel, not exceeding the total $1500 built into your lease. If you are nervous before end lease, you can get the car inspected free per the ahfc recommendations (2 months before end lease) to ensure that the damages dont exceed your allowance and to allow you to repair at your preferred repair shop should there be necessary repairs. If the dents/dings dont exceed that number and you confirm with the inspectors, you should be all set and not have to get any repairs. Just be sure to make sure car is washed and in decent condition prior to lease end return.
