rt cat gasket???

hey guys i dont remember where i've read it , either on this forum or another but i remember reading that you may need to get a gasket if you have the rt cat. I believe the gasket needed is from the cat to exhuast not the header. I would like to get a clear answer before i put it on so i can do everything in one install. thanks

btw, 04 with already dc header, stock exhuast (probably why doesnt need new gaskets from header). Also i remember reading it casue i wrote down the gasket part# you can get at napa 31369

I mention it here, but neglected to put the part number:

Just take it in to NAPA and have them fit the gasket. The guy took my cat back and found them.

I have mine and never put a gasket on...

Do you not have to if you have the Comptech exhaust? Everything seemed to fit just fine.

I would just buy it. It's cheap, and it won't hurt to get one. You don't absolutely need it, but it's better to be safe then sorry. Plus, if you don't put it in the first time, you might end up thinking about it later and having to go through the trouble of putting it in then.

impressions

just got back from install and a few runs.

installation was farily easy just hate the tight spaces. I went to Napa to see if they had the gaskets but they didnt have any in stock so i decided to install without them. So far no Cel on any kind of driving 20 mins normal speed crusing 60, and 20 mins of WOT from different speeds. I do however have the anti defouler which actually brings a question to my mind, do the defoulers prevent "real" cel to go on if something other then the normal code pop up?

anyway

04 5at ct icebox, dc header , rt cat

right when i turned on my engine i already noticed the rpm increase. while driving normally i dont feel the hard shifts from 1-2 in full auto. now i couldnt do any WOT FROM STOP casue its raining but low runs from 10 -WOT in full auto ..let me say it felt like i was in ss mode with vsa off when i didnt have the cat. I did most 60+ wot driving and omg the rpm FLYYYYYYS I MEAN FLLLLYYYYYS!!!! everyone was right i dont feel any more hesitation from the engine or lag from before, the engine is free. well thats all for now wil give update in a week or so to see if i get a cel
