yeah, i think that's wrong. the middle bulb (of the first 3, left to right) is smaller than the two outside bulbs. i think the first (far left) and third are the same. the far left is the brake light also and is 2 stage. i tried putting my led light in that slot and it didn't light up. i thought i blew it, but it still worked in the reverse socket. the original bulb, however, would not light up again. it blew when i put it back in. took it to the dealer and they replaced it free. i didn't tell them about my little experiment.

Sorry loulinjai, your picture is wrong...it's close, but wrong. The only thing wrong with it is the tail lights (not the stop/brake lights) are 168 type, not 7440. 7440 bulbs will not fit for the tail lights, only the 168 type will.

Also, for anyone who wants to replace the side markers, they are also 168 type.

Check out my full write up of the LED replacement (complete with pictures!) The write up begins about halfway down the page at post #171 and spans across 4 posts. It has detailed instructions and pictures for anyone who is interested in doing this mod. Everything works perfectly for me, so if you're looking for the correct way to do it and the correct bulbs to use, check out my write up.

Sorry, I don't have many good looking pictures to post, I haven't had a chance to snap any at night. They are very bright during the day and look just plain awesome at night. I'll take some night pictures as soon as I get a chance.

they give off a kind of blue hue, so they are dimmer but still bright enough to see behind you. i think the white light gets lost in all the yellow street lights, but they are bright enough in dark places.

maybe this can be brighter. Have anyone tried it yet?
I'm planning to give it a try, if it'll fit. It looks a little bigger than the Matrix bulbs. I sent an e-mail to Autolumination asking a question about its size.

Question for anyone who has the 15-LED Matrix bulbs: Does it just barely fit, or is there some extra room? Are the Matrix bulbs any longer than the OEM bulbs? My guess is that the Light Tower is going to be a fraction of an inch bigger than the Matrix.

Nice write up! Looks very helpful -- I'm sure I'll be using it when I do the mod myself.

Question...do you have any before/after pics of the front parking lights? Based on the extra effort you mentioned, I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth the effort.

I think I do somewhere, but I'll have to look around for them a little. I'll also take some night time pictures of the LEDs to show how much better they look.

The LEDs aren't any brighter, but they have a much more deep and rich amber color, which I like a lot.

Edit: I found a good picture of before/after. I'm really sorry, I don't have enough time to post it right now but I'll do it when I get home later tonight. It's a daytime picture, so the LEDs don't look quite as bright, but it's deceptive, they really are quite bright.

I'll also snap a few pictures when I get home tonight of what things look like at night.

I used the 15 LED bulbs with the radially mounted LEDs from www.superbrightleds.com They fit perfectly, no problems at all with getting them in the light housings. They're no bigger or smaller than the OEM bulbs. I didn't have a single problem.

The guy from Superlumination got back to me, said the Light Tower bulbs are 1.75" long, so they are about a quarter inch longer than the OEMs if my measurements are correct. Whenever I get some time (maybe this weekend) I'll try taking out the bulbs and estimating whether an extra quarter inch will fit in the taillight housing.

As promised, here's a few pictures of my LED tail lights and reverse lights at night.

Here is a larger version of the above picture.

If anyone wants to see any more or wants to know anything else about the lights or the process to swap them, PM me or ask here, I'll help out as best I can.

Thanks for posting these!

Question...
In the second picture, it looks like the tail lights (middle bulbs) are a different shade of red than the brake lights (outside bulbs). I'm guessing this is just a photography fluke, and that they're really the same color?

Indeed. They really are the same color, but photographs don't do so well in recreating the actual color of the lights. It's a very deep red, but it's also very bright.

According to the Slvania site.. it says that the TSX uses 7443 for the Tail and stop light, and 7440 for the backup and high-mount stop light....

just wondering why you went with the T 13 6 LED bulb for the inner tail light + upper stop light? will they all fit the same??

also, has anyone tried out the ....7440 and 7443 Wedge Base bulbs with High Power LEDs - 15mm wedge base bulb with 3 High Power LEDs consisting of 6 Surface Mount LEDs each for a total of 18 LEDs per bulbs - 120 degree viewing angle
our brightest 7440/7443

also offered from superbrightleds.com

Thanks!

I just ordered the following LEDS:

2x H11 WHP DRL LED WHITE (got sick of protective film getting burned all the time and it's only $10 each so.....)
2X 7443-15 LED RED
2X 7440-15 LED WHITE
1X 7440-15 LED RED
2X WLED 6-LED RED
2X WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED RED
2x WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED AMBER

Total $81.39

I can't wait to replace them all. I'll post pictures too once I have installed them all.
