Returning my car in Mint Condition
Returning my car in Mint Condition
Have had my car 15 months and someone last week asked me if I just bought the car. My NBP looks better than someone I know who bought a car last week. My goal is turn it in at the end of the lease having the salesman very confused if it is three years old. If it wasn't the high mileage I was putting on the car, I would keep it after the lease is up. I'll take a 2007 model instead when the lease is up.

You're not missing anything. Soon enough he'll make a post that will explain why he started a new thread.

I have leased two Acura TLs, a 1999 and a 2003. I also treat my leased cars as if I own them and wash and detail them often. I was 10,000 miles over on the lease on the 1999 and had 5 months to go on the lease when I got the 2004 in April 2002. I did not have to pay a mileage penalty and my lease payment was exactly the same as it was for the 1999 TL. The dealer took one look at my 1999 and knew he could turn around and sell it without having to do anything to it.
I am going to lease a TSX when my lease comes up in July.

It will likely cost me a few thousand dollars over the few years- lot of money I agree. Nothing I can do now.

BTW, if you figure out how to return your car with less mileage than it originally had, do let us know.
