I am looking to replace the stock speakers, as they suck. I do not want to install an amp, a sub, or go over the top however. Any suggestions on what would match up to the stock amp and deck? I am looking for a DIY install w/ an affordable, but noticable upgrade in quality.

The guy at the local audio shop said he could "upgrade" the whole system for a mere $750! No, that does not include a sub, nor name brand speakers. Simply 6 speakers and a 4 channel amp, installed of course. That is too much for my blood. I would rather rock crappy tunes and have an aspec kit at that cost.

 

i went with infinity's 6.5 for the doors and alpine type-s for the 6x9's...more clarity and better bass...spent a little over $300

Do a search for "Avincar" I've heard his stock replacement speakers for the TSX are really good, and they are matched to the stock speaker impedance, so your whole sound system won't be quieter if you don't add an amp. I've been thinking about ordering the set for myself.

I put in some 6.5 MB Quarts P series in the front and some Q series in the back. It cost me like $225 each set and another $300 for an amp, and its only noticeably better at high volumes.
