I'm taking the car in to have it tinted. I requested the tint NOT be cut out around the third brake light. The girl at the desk suggested I remove the housing or see how to remove it prior to coming in. I'd think they'd know how, but in case not, how do you remove the third brake housing?

 

I believe it has two clips that are accessable through the trunk area. They removed mine when I had my windows tinted and I think thats how they did it. The installer just snapped it back in to place in seconds when they finished my install.

 

tell them to be careful when removing. they broke my clip and it's been rattling alot until i packed every single opening on rear deck with sound deadning materials.
