Remote Start on 6spd??

i know it is possible. I think some alarms you have to disable to clutch switch, and remember to leave it in neutral. Other alarms have an in-gear position switch that wont allow you to start if in gear.

I was buying side skirts for my RSX Type S and the guy I got them from, had remote start on his Type S. So, it is possible. Here is what I found on Ebay.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do something. And there's no right way to do something stupid.
There is no gear position switch in the TSX 6mt except for R. This means there is no reliable way to make sure your TSX doesn't hit something if started in gear.
I've seen it done, I'd heard about it being done, it's just too dangerous.
Now, there are systems which have a "rub your tummy pat your head" sequence to go thorugh before shut down that allow a remote start after you've proven that you didn't forget - Crimestopper used to have this, I believe CompuStar does now, and there was an add-on gadget you could use too.
But you have to remember to do the sequence before shutdown! Each time!

Are people getting that lazy and infatuated with gadgets?

DON'T DO IT!!! Seriously, I believe it is illegal to have auto-start on a manual. I did it anyway with my prelude. One day my stepfather moved my car to get his out and left it in gear instead of e-braking it. I wake up to go to school on a cold morning, start the car using the auto start, and through the garage door it went. Needed a paint job and replacement parts, wasnt fun. Never used the auto start again after that.

Back before manual cars had safety switches on clutches, I remember several instances where someone would turn the key with the car in gear and the clutch engaged, and the car would leap forward. Even if it didn't start, it would move several feet while the key was turned.
If you look at the owner's manual of on old Subaru, like early eighties, it actually suggested this practice to move the car in the event that it was out of gas or some other such disabling event, in order to safely get it off the road........
So, if you bypass the clutch safety switch, the TSX would do that too. The trick is get a system with an input the will NOT allow the remote to work if the car is not in neutral.......

I had a remote starter on my manual EL before I got my TSX... You guys think its a luxury, but it's a necessity here in the frigid north. When it gets down to -40 (it doesn't matter if that's fahrenheit or Celsius) I like to have my command start warming up the engine every few hours.
Basically how it worked. Before shutting off the engine I had to place the car in neutral, then set the starter. After leaving the vehicle the starter would shut-off the ignition and set itself. Also need a bypass for the immobilizer. Normally what they do is use the valet key to bypass the immobilizer. I'm getting one instaslled on my TSX next week so hopefully I can share some more details with you
