Remote Distance
How close do u have to be for your remote to work. I ususaly have to be about 20 feet away for the remote to work. it seems almost pointless to have a panic button when it doesnt work from a far distance. im thinkin maybe the battery is dead. but i just got the car in july.

Mine only works from about 20 feet or so also. I've only had my car for about 6 or 7 weeks so the battery should still be good although I guess anything is possible. I'll be interested to hear the experience of others.

I got my GF at the time a Clifford alarm, and the ONLY reason I wanted her crappy car to have an alarm was for the Panic button... at the moment that she entered or exited her car in the SDSU parking structure. The rest of the time she was on her own.

Try a new battery, if then it fails, No, dont try the chin thing, thats looks wierd, and shouldn't be the way to get it done. Ask the local dealer to check it out.

well i walk out of work and i park at the END of the lot.....probably pass 20-25 cars on my walk, and there is a NO PARKING zone thats about 20 feet wide after the first 5 cars.....i always unlock my car when i get to the no parking zone.....so if i pass 20 cars...each space being 7-8 feet thats like 140-160 feet and i can see my break lights blinking.
I do hold the remote at Eye level when i do this, making sure to aim it right at my car.

My experience is that my remote works from alot further in an indoor parking garage. My theory, based on nothing whatsoever except the logic I can come to, is that outdoors, if I click the remote, the signal has more room to "dissipate", meaning it just kind of fades up into the sky? Indoors, if I click it, it maybe just bounces off the ceiling and floor and therefore goes farther without weakening? Any truth to this theory?

Mine works about 200' away in an uninterrupted straight line, maybe 20-40' with cars in the way. I've had the car for > 1 year and have always been impressed with this. When I took the train to my old job, I could roll down the windows as it was pulling into the elevated station!
