Rear- Wheel Drive TSX?

How do you think the TSX would perform if it were rear-wheel drive and would it get the respect that the G35 gets?

It would perform great, but G35 lovers would still slam it because it doesnt have the big V6.

A RWD TSX would be cool. But I think the G35 gets respect for having 260HP and 260lb-ft of torque more so than for being RWD.

I know it was a pretty broad question, but I have been watching a lot of those Top Gear shows from the BBC and seeing those opposite lock power slides got me thinking about the TSX in rwd.

The G35 is a great car....with lots of power and weight balance!

There are so many intangables to RWD that would make the TSX a much sportier car. It ranks #1 on my TSX wish list.

RWD or the lack of it, never crossed MY mind when considering the TSX. The 9-3 and S60 get along fine without RWD also. Unless you race on a track frequently, you do not need RWD. And if you drive in crappy conditions in the winter, you don't want RWD. I'll bet 95% of the people who own G35's could care less if it had RWD or FWD. And if the FWD V6 Altima didn't have so much torque steer (Honda could teach them how to eliminate this) and a few more ponies, no one would even be talking about the G35...

Wow, first time I heard ppl say G35 is UGLY. I think it looks nice. The only Nissan/Infiniti I would consider. But no money for it.

This girl i mess with owns one.
Awesome car i must admit. But i still love my tsx more.
I actually wanted to get the g35 but then once she got it i changed my mind to the tsx but had to "settle on an 03 accord"
Then i traded it in for the TSX. Been in love ever since.

rwd

I also own a s2000[2001] and love the rwd but I don't miss it
while I'm driving the TSX.Although the TSX feels much larger,
especially with that steering wheel,i feel very confident taking
long wide turns with it.With the s2000 you must stay very focused
to take that same turn.I realize a great driver can outrun a TSX
on most days but take a wet road and see what happens.
I feel the TSX has a european flavor that isn't seen much for this great value it is-stew

Many G35 buyers bought it over other cars because it's RWD and the performance is a nice bonus. The only reason I wouldn't buy it now is the terrible gas milage (a BMW 545 with a 330HP V8 gets better milage) and first year bugs (I hear 04s are better in both departments). I would buy the TSX in a heart beat if it had RWD although I might buy it in its current form also unless something better comes along.

tsxs2k,

Agreed. I have an 86 toyota mr2 that I tool around with. RWD and light weight equal some wild opposite lock power slides. My parents bought it for me as a first car 11 years ago. I am honestly lucky to be here due to all the times I lost control in that car (my inexperience). I would love to put the TSX engine in it and see how it would perform.....

Yeah you have to stay focused because you can take the turn about twice as fast... well not twice but up there.
