Rear View Mirror Power Question

Hey everyone, I had a quick question regarding the power supply of the rear view mirror. I plan on getting either a V1 or 9500i soon, along with an invisicord, and was wondering whether or not the radar detector would stay on after I turn off the engine or will it turn off? I tried searching, but I couldn't find an answer to my question.

Thanks ahead of time!

My compass turns off, so the power must turn off when the car is off. It is easy to check with a test light, just to make sure.

You have a compass in your rear view mirror?

Ya, I know a guy at the company that makes the mirrors, so he made me one.

I have a V1 wired to the mirror just as you propose. Power to the V1 is cut off when the key is removed from the ignition, and is restored when you insert the key and turn past ACC. You will never need to touch the power/volume knob to power the unit on or off. The V1 maintains all its settings for quite a while even without power. One thing to look out for...one of the ports back there gets turned off when the car is put into reverse (to turn off the dimmer for backing up) - make sure you don't plug your RD into that one.
