Rear sway bar problems

Dealer said the pin on one side is rusted and will probably let go any day. Seems the plastic bushing protecting the pin assembly cracked and fell off at one point leaving the metal pin exposed to salt.

Is this a common problem? Dealer quoted over $350 for the fix. Anyone know of a less expensive way to repair?

I'm a little confused by the reference to a "pin". The rear sway bar has 2 connection points on each side: 1 pair of sway bar brackets/bushings that are attached to the chassis with bolts and 1 pair of end links, also attached by bolts.

The end links and the brackets are both easy to replace. The end links are prone to failure, and Acura seems to have discontinued them -- so replace them with Moogs. I replaced mine last week. Today, I replaced my sway bar brackets with greasable brackets; this was not as easy as replacing them with non-greasable brackets, but it's going to save me a lot of trouble down the road -- regreasing the standard brackets every year is a pain in the @$$.

End links are about $40 bucks each shipped. Sway bar bushings/brackets are less than $25; you can probably replace all four bolts for $2.

I appreciate the reply. The dealer called it a pin. Sounds like it's a much simpler repair than what the dealer is leading me to believe trying to squeeze me for more money.

There's a hum coming from the same side as the sway bar issue. Wondering if it's related.
