Real reason for buying TSX?
When I read some of your posts, many of you don't seem to have picked the TSX as your first choice.
So I guess I'm asking, why did you choose your TSX? Are some of you settling because you can't afford the car you really want? Or are did you choose it because it's your perfect car?
If price wasn't an issue, would you still have chosen the TSX or one of its competitors?

I guess I should have answered it myself. Reliability steers me away from the German cars (even though I still love the Audi A3/A4). I really want the Lexus IS250/350, but I can't afford it (when you add all the stuff the TSX comes with).

bang for your buck value
interior is so nice
car looks sweet
buttery smooth manual
If price was not an issue,...A HUGE determinant would be how much I like the manuals of the TSX's competition. I have never driven the competition though, so I cant really say too much about the other cars other than I like the styling of the TSX more.

The Accord was my first choice, before I realized the TSX existed. The TL was too big and never seriously considered, and the Infinity G35 coupe was unproven as far as long term reliability. The only real choices were the TSX vs G35C for me. I thought I needed something more practical than another coupe.
That might change though, my cousin wants to split the 2005 SL500. So I get the coupe too afterall.

would have loved a MINI cooper, for the extraordinary handling and uniqueness, but that was just way too impractical. Love 3-series BMWs, but hate the material used for the interior....always looks nasty after 75k and I've kept my cars for much longer.
I want to eventually get a high reving light roadster such as an elise, s2k, or nsx-t used.

i looked at the value of the car. Car is the most convinient luxury sports sedan u will ever find for its price. nav, voice command, bright HID, confortable seats, great interior/ext, great MPG. however, me being 19, i kinda regret i shoulda got s2000. i do not need 4dr. if you think you are in need of perfect 4dr sedan, then get TSX but if u still want to enjoy ur ride, go with something else..

The TSX was my first choice. Coming from a 2-door 96 civic, it was a major change, but I wanted more of an adult car and something classier, but I didn't want to spend more than 30K for the car, so with all the little extras it came with including decent MPG, I didn't even think twice before making my purchase.

I was looking at the Accord 4 door, but it was too "family sedan" and everybody had one. I test drove it and like it, but then drove the TSX. It was love a first ride. It seemed stronger, the handling was more precise, and the fit and finish was amazing. Funny thing was my wife and neice were along for the ride too and their reactions were the same, "This car is you" was the comment. Sold!
I have had the thing 2 years and still love it.

The Accord was my first choice until I realized I could afford the TSX.
The real reason why I bought the TSX was the following:
- Security (HID and VSA)
- Fuel economy (needed to stay with a 4cyl)
- Comfort (full adjustable driver's seat)
- Power (200hp I4 was great for me)
amongst other things..

Bought the TSX because BMW sales guy wouldn't budge on the sticker and I had the invoice sheet for BMWs in 2003. TSX was the next best choice plus all of the standard elements (HIDs being my #1 desire).

I may be fat but I'm slow
Like others, I really wanted an S2000. However, this was to be my only car, didn't think I could manage with just an S. Looked at the G35C, liked it a lot, but didn't think it was worth the premium (and I couldn't afford it). I love my TSX, but still dream about an S2000.

I had my choices narrowed down to a handful when I was deciding and I went out and test drove every car. That pretty much made my decision as the TSX was just the best of the bunch.
Biggest thing for me was the fact that I needed something practical. Otherwise, I would be driving an S2000.

I had no car and was driving my mothers truck everyday because of problem with my car. I had a downpayment on an STi, but the dealership kept acting shady, so i got it back checked out the tsx and fell in love with the value.

I wanted this car from the first day I saw it! It took 2 years to finally get it. Although I did look at other cars along the way, just to see whats out there. This is the car I wanted from the beginnng, and love it every time I drive it.

My Integra was on its 15th year and I wanted a new car. I wanted four doors but I wanted it to be sporty so it was going to be a sport sedan. I wanted a little more luxury too. I looked at the MB C230, Audi A4, Honda Accord, Saab 93, TSX, BMW325, G35, IS300. I wanted to spend around $25K. Reliability was also a concern as was gas mileage. Flat out speed was not. The TSX just presented the most complete package at the best price to fit my needs. In that sense, it was my No. 1 choice.

I was looking for a cheap(sub $30k) car that had the features I wanted in a car, the TSX was the only car that met my criteria. But if money was no option I would be in a LS430 right now, seeing as it is more then twice the cost I don't think its fair to compare the two. I'd rather drive a TSX and get a new house with in a year then a big flashy car and live in the same house for another 10 years, but that's just me.
Coming from German cars, reliablitity was a big factor. Looking back, having had the TSX for over 1.5 years I have no regrets, its a great car and I a very pleased with it.

I would of loved to get the G35 Coupe, but its not that realistic for New England winters, plus the price was $5000 over what I was willing to spend.
The TSX was everything that I was looking for in a car. I know it wasn't the best looking stockwise, but I knew I would be putting money into aftermarket stuff to make it look amazing in my eyes. You just get so much car for the money that it was tough to say no. I'm very happy with my purchase though I do question whether I should of gotten a manual or not.
Oh, the reliability factor of Hondas and Acuras was also a major reason.

set on a used 2002 lexus is300 5mt. but, after thinking about it, i thought, "i might as well pay a few thousand more and get a brand new car, not to mention that this is a gas guzzler."
also looked at the 05 accord coupe ex-v6 6mt, but nobody wanted to talk to me on the showroom floor.
tsx it was...

oh and I bought the TSX for many reasons, like others. There is no better car out there for the price, look, reliability, etc etc etc... than the TSX. That is the truth, not opinion.
I honestly think Acura/Honda has come up with a great car and price (if they keep it the same) and they could make a killer selling but I dont think enough people know about the TSX. Honestly, I have so many people ask if its a TL or RSX they have never heard of the TSX... while I dont want to see tons of TSXs driving around, I do think Acura could do a better job marketing this amazing car. This car is much more worth the $ than the TL.

I couldn't afford a BMW at that time my old VW broke down. Needed a car that was sporty, handled nice and came with all the features that can be found in a higher end car.

No TSX is not my first choice. My list include Enzo, 288 GTO, Carrera GT, 911 GT3, M5, M3 CSL, GTR R34, NSX-R, STi 22B, S2000, DC2 ITR, RX-7 FD, Altezza RS200, AE86... and my list goes on!
Why I choose TSX? I went test drove the TSX by accident! I supposed to test drive the G35M but that Infiniti dealer were so busy so I walked next door to the Acura dealer to browse around and the salesman just asked to test drive the TSX and TL. After test drove the TSX, I already fall in love with this 4 banger and the super slick smooth 6sp gear box. So after test drove the G35, IS300, Mazda 3 GT and RX8. I know my choice will be limited to a PWP TSX or NWB TSX. After 1 yr of owning the TSX, I still feel it is way better than my other car -- the so call leader of sport sedan : E46 328i. So TSX is not my first choice in the beginning(not even consider it) but end up it is the best choice.

I was seriously considering the IS300, till the TSX came out 2 years ago. Teh TSX is just a better overall car for a good price.
If money was not an issue, I would most likely get an M3 or S4.

It's as if jlukja read my mind before I posted my response. This is exactly what I was going to say (Edit: delete Saab 93 and insert Toyota 4Runner Sport).

second choice... my first choice was the scion tc.. i picked the tsx becuase it was had the most standard equipment for the money. Aslo because the name Acura was reliable.

First choice - Audi A4 = too much money
Second choice = Acura TSX
Read the reviews and all I read was good!
I test drove it and fell in love right away and the navi was such a neat tool, it's not like the other navi's which is just a navi and nothing more, this one has everything incorporated into it as well as voice commands which made me love it even more!
