Those spyshots make me love my car even more.

Something seems wrong with this. It looks like an old model car with tweaked sheet metal. The headlight assembly looks too close to the current model, doesn't look anything like the tourer concept, and that had a blatantly Acura-like nose.
But if this is the real deal, then I know I sound like a frightened reactionary by saying so, but
. Especialy when compared to the new Lexus IS250,
! This looks like a more bland version of the current model. This thing makes the new Accord look cool. I hope to God this is some sort of mule test car, or that something magic happens when they pull the tape off. This is amazignly unimaginative especialy considering how unique the new Civic looks.
The news that it will likely top out with a 2.4L displacement makes this a disapointment all around. I guess they thought the current TSX was a home run and couldn't possibly be improved upon.
Note the circular exhaust as opposed to the daul square exhaust on the earlier spy shots, suggesting that was probably infact the TL.

TSX or TL?
Maybe I'm missing something, but if the TSX is made in Japan and the TL is made in Ohio, and these pics show Ohio plates, I'd be more inclined to think this might be the next TL.. unless the new TSX will be built in Ohio?
I'm curious how this got tagged as a TSX spy shot and not a TL spy shot.

Also realize that they test cars in lots of places, not just within spitting distance of the factory.

The thread had nothing to do with the release of these new spy shots. It's not our fault the author named his thread so ambiguously. If I name my thread "topics of life.. all that is between birth and death" I wouldn't expect that to be the thread to end all threads.
The last I checked that thread was trailing off and I tired of reading it.

Not quite sure how I feel about the design (if this is it)... I'm definitely not "excited", but I'll reserve judgement until I see it in all it's glory sans the tape.

The design isn't so bad, but at least its not so ground breaking that I'll regret my 05 TSX purchase.
However, reading the original text from vte c.net it seems like the TSX will have either 240 hp FWD in the base model or 260 hp SH-AWD for the type S model. The type s will also feature a 6 speed auto/manual DSG.
The type-s stats sound pretty cool to me....

And then another pic shows the new wheel design, we'll have a thread titled "2009 TSX new wheel"
Or when theres a thread discussing the Drivetrain we'll title it "2009 TSX SH-AWD?"
Do you see a recurring theme here?

His thread was misnamed, "2009 Tsx" is too vague, it should have been called "what some salesman told me about the 2009 Tsx". The spy shots are not an update on the issue of what a salesman told him. It's not practical to have so many different things about the 2009 TSX in a single thread. I care a lot about spy shots. I don't realy care about what lies the sales people are telling this week. You're trying to punish me just because I don't want to waste a lot of time reading stuff I don't care about.

She said: it's GINORMOUS!
looks like they evolved it a little bit from the current car. i don't mind, as long as it's not like the accord sedan, ugh! do i see bulging front hid lights? ugh!
did they take away the side mirror lights, that's wrong, and i don't see a intercooler - does that mean no 2.3T - i'm gonna cry.

well after seeing those shots again, very disappointed.
but, it's still early to tell. all i know is that it's not a real radical depature in styling from the current TSX.
i don't think though i'm buying another Acura.

I'm definitely not feeling the lines and design of this prototype. There better be something spectacular under those mask of tapes...or else I dunno how the new TSX can hold up to the increasing competition.

Looks to me like that's not a 2009 TSX but a camo'ed 2008 Accord being tested as the new TL.
Look at the size and overall length it appears to be TL size, plus if the plates are real...it's in Ohio.
You guys need to keep looking in Europe for the 2009 TSX. It should pop up as the Accord there first.
Whatever it is...it's Fugly.

Three Wheelin'
WEll, I for one will not be rushing out to buy that. Even if it has a little more power, I can wait. My 06 still looks like new and makes me feel proud to own err...make payments on
I was expecting something a little better myself. OH well...
