at WOT in Drive, the car will not redline. it will reach 7k RPM and shift. however, when you use Sequential Sportsshift, you can eaisly reach 7400... well within the red zone. what i was wondering is this: when the magazines test their cars, do you use SS mode or just leave it in D and floor it. i was wondering if you guys think there is much of a difference in the 0-60 times when you use SS instead of just "D". thanks

 

The SS never upshifts automatically, and I've bounced off the rev limiter at 7400 too. I doubt the extra 400 rpm you get will make much difference in 0-60 times, since you only see that range once before 60 mph (in the 1-2 shift). From a general performance point of view, the SS is better because it allows you to be in the right gear at the right time and you don't have to prompt for a downshift (or two) by flooring the gas.

 

Yup, the Acura'ssequential doesn't upshift while the tiptronic does.
