Range 0

So yesterday I was to lazy to get gas and after i finished my workout i hit zero range. I know from a episode of Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson lasted 50 mile and still could go a little more but he made it to his destination and that was in a jag. So has anyone tried to see how long they could last with the range at zero?
Sorry about the pic from my Blackberry.

You have a reserve tank of something like 3 gallons so once you hit 0 you get that extra gas as a safety measure incase you're in the middle of nowhere and you happen to run outta gas. As for going down that low I never do that just because I rarely let my car go below 1/3 a gas tank left.

Yeah, 411 is pretty good. The only time I've gotten that much was on a road trip. 6 hours, 1 stop because I'm an idiot and drank a massive cup of tea before I got on the road.

I generally fill mine up when it gets to 20 miles or so and rarely ever put more than 13 gallons in. The range isn't range to empty, its range to when you really should stop for gas to make sure you don't run out. Besides, if you let it get too low you wind up sucking up crap that inevitably accumulates on the bottom of the tank. Bad for the engine.

I've gone about 4-5 miles after it hit 0.
Was freakin out the whole time.
Only did that once. I have gotten close a few other times, but I think I've only hit 0 that one time.

Ha! Thankfully I've never had to push a car into the gas station before! I'd hate to try and push something as heavy as the TSX by myself!

The range meter does not take into account how much gas you still have in your gas tank. The car resets the meter when you fill up, and it makes instantaneous calculations of your fuel efficiency as you drive.

You should use the "low fuel" indicator which uses the actual amount of fuel in your gas tank. When it turns on, you have 3 gallons of fuel left. If your driving style is giving you 30 mpg, then that means you have 3*30=90 miles left to go.
