Did the dealer offer you that? Did you have to bargain much? If not call them back and tell them to make it an even 27,500. I'm a greedy bastard... i'd try to get every penny out of them!

Tried to get the mats, he just laughed.. So i agreed to his original deal and went with it. I think i will be able to pick it up in the morning. Put my deposit already.

Just to let you guys know I did this through carsdirect they quoted me, but i just went to the ask dealer for quotes option.

He didnt have the car i wanted, so he called another dealer and traded. He then said that he will give it to me for 28,800.

I shot back with 27,700

He said lemme call you back.

He called back and offered me 28,800

I said lemme think about it..

He said ok..

then less than five minutes he called me back and said Ok 27,700..

So here we are.

No mats, huh?

When I bought my car, it was included in every sale at every dealer I went to. Also mud flaps and trunk tray were also added at no cost. Kind of odd... but you save a nice bundle there for a NAVI model.

Welcome to the LA car market, where there are always 5-6 other dealers within driving distance to bargain with. Even exotics dealers sometimes have to bargain around here.

If it weren't the MR color -- which is fairly rare -- I'd say to hold out for an even better price.

absolutely correct.

Last week I checked and there were only 2 cars with our match in so-cal. Pasadena, and montclair. So this guy (valencia) called and i told him what i wanted I knew that if he got it from pasadena, it would be hard to find it elsewere. Apparently montclaire sold theirs. Anyway, I decided that if it was a SSM or CG i could get it for cheaper, but this one was a rarity. So I pulled the trigger. I think for those more common colors you could swing 27.5.

Oh yeah, the floor mats are not a big deal, i will fork 80 bucks on ebay, but i must say i think the all weathers will be a must in this car.

It's nice to see the prices of the '05s are starting to get reasonable....at least to the point that the buyer has some bargaining power. Thanks for giving us hope with your purchase, pandimus.

Dude if you look in the group buy thread, this is what ive been saying the whole time. Give it time and they will come down in $$

Honestly i would have held out longer, if my car wasnt a POS.

Yeah. But I didn't think the prices would get reasonable this quickly. So what else do you see in your crystal ball?

And speaking of POS cars...although my car isn't broken down like yours, mine probably isn't far behind...I feel your pain.

2 weeks from now, around DEC 15-29.. wont be a problem to get a navi for 27,500

My old car a 94 toyota paseo. I bought it in 96 and that is the only ride, ive had since then.

on thanksgiving, i walked into garage, and there was coolant all over floor.
Bad waterpump.

Waterpump needed to be changed, so i decided to change timing belt. More work but same disassemble.

Fixed water pump, but timing was one tooth off, didnt idle right.

Next day, fixed timing.. Taking wife to LA, Drive belt (waterpump/alternator belt) Snapped off. Sat on side of freeway for an evening.

Fixed that.

Yesterday.. Soo cold, battery wouldnt start car..

Had to jump it.

I could talk more and more, like the loss of gas mileage, and what not.

She has served her purpose. Now, i need to clean it up, put it out on the for sale lot here on base, and try to get 1200 for it.

We will see......

Why is the all weathers mat a must? Doesn't it feel better to step on carpet instead of a piece of rubber?

Very well. Only semi-major thing done to it has been timing belt. Other than that, it's great. Still getting 30+ miles per gallon. Gotta love Toyotas.

Do the TSX all weather mats come in different colors other than black? Or won't it look a little strange to have tan interior with black floormats?

No i think they only come in black. Yeah wont look the prettiest, but I will prolly use them when going to and from work during the week, then on weekends wash them up and lay em in the garage for the weekend.

I agree, hopefully the price will keep dropping by the time I'm ready to look into purchasing one, which is in the Springtime.
