Questions For TSX Owners In Wisconsin & Indiana.

I'm relatively close to the Wisconsin and Indiana borders.

What dealers would you recommend checking out?

How was your buying experience?

Lastly, what was the sales tax for the car?

I haven't bought my TSX yet, but the ONLY dealer in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area is Acura of Brookfield. I was there to test drive and they call me every couple of months to see if I'm stilll interested. I've been working with Tom Schellinger who has been extremely patient while I get my act together!! I worry about price at this dealer because it is the only one around with no competition, but if you bring up that you are willing to travel for a good price, they may be more apt to deal.

Sales tax is based on where you live, not where you buy the car. If you buy it out of state, I believe you will have to pay the sales tax when you register the car in Illinois. Regardless, there is no way around it, you will pay the Illinois sales tax one way or another.

I just bought a 2004 TSX and found that if you are looking for a navi w 6 spd the dealers are less willing to negotiate than if you are looking for an auto w/o navi. They will also deal more on an auto with navi. However, I think you can forget about getting something close or below invoice, at least until the 2005s come in and the dealers still have 2004s on the lot. Even then it might be tough. They are pretty proud of these cars.
