Questions about the clutch
Hey guys,
I have been driving my MT TSX for a few weeks, and during this interval, I notice there is something with my clutch. In the beginning, I can feel the friction point is very deep inside the pedal. But now after driving for some thousands of miles, the friction point is moving outside. What I mean is I have to release my clutch pedal more to feel that friction point. You know what I am talking about?
Any experts or anyone can explain to a newbie in MT what is going on?
Thanks.

one more word of advice. Try and not let your friends drive your car, the car's clutch tends to "learn" your driving style so if you let a bunch of your friend's drive your car your car may feel different afterwards.

Odd that it would start out with the takeup point close in and then move. Modern Honda clutches all seem to have the friction point very near the fully "up" position of the pedal. They are hydraulic and self-adjusting, so you shouldn't really feel it change over time. The older ones were cable-actuated and needed to be adjusted from time to time. In any case, the way it's working for you now sounds correct and as ks112 said, unless you feel it slipping, you don't need to worry about it.

slipping is when your clutch is worn and it fails to catch. when you try and acclerate after you let the clutch out the car doesn't move and the rpm's go up. best way to test if your clutch is slipping is go into an empty parking lot put it in first and slowly let the clutch out (just like the first lesson you learned on how to drive manual) now if you can't get the clutch to catch and get the car moving buy itself without the gas then your clutch is worn. i've also heard of another way of testing the clutch don't know if it works. Put the car in second or third, slowly let the clutch out if then car doesn't stall when the clutch is all the way out then your clutch is done. Please correct me if this is wrong
