question about swapping headlights

on my 04, the lenses are shot. and unfortunately as i've done on other cars, the lense by its self is not available. that leaves me with replacing the headlights. i'm not going to buy factory pieces because they are too much money. i don't want to lose the brightness of the factory HID lights either, which i know is due to the excellent projector housing. so i'm curious if anyone has bought the aftermarket headlights and swapped in the OEM projector? i know they just unbolt but i'm not sure if the mounting tabs are the same because i don't have a pr. of the aftermarket ones sitting in front of me to look at without buying them first...

I did the swap on my headlights. I bought those JDM looking headlights on Ebay and just had my friend switch out the projectors for me. I'm not sure it certain modifications were needed because I wasn't there when he did the swap, but i do know that it CAN be done. I was going to get the original JDM headlights but you need , which unfortunately I don't have a lot of right now. None the less, my car still looks great with OEM projecting.

see yeah, that's exactly what i was thinking about doing. i've sanded and polished my lights countless times, only to have the haze come back a couple weeks later. i've had the entire front repainted now to fix the stone chips, and now the lights look terrible. thanks, man.

haha, funny you posted that, as those are the ones i've been looking at, except swapping in the factory projectors.

the reason this concerns me is i put in a ton of ebay lights with projectors at work, and they are very dim in comparison to the stock units i remove. and i'm sure this is in part due to the inexpensive design of the projector assembly.

i'm pretty sure this is the route i'm going to take and see how it turns out.

I would totally love to get those without the D2S bulbs included. I like the clear/smoked turn-signal look with a stealth bulb in them.
