Question about handsfreelink

Does 2006 TSX bluetooth handsfreelink work with the new Apple iPhone? Anyone try it?

This question is coming up a lot. It will not, but Applie will sell an accessory to make it work. Apple likes to make products that do everything but the obvious, and then overcharge you for the accessories that give it basic functionality. It's a huge mistake on apples behalf imho....but not suprising.

It works with he 3rd gen TL's so it should work with the TSX as they have the same units to my knowledge.

I'm sure it will work but not sure it you'll have full functionality (such as display battery and signal).

Also, if you can afford $600 for the phone, I'm sure you can afford $30 for whatever accessory it needs (assuming that it does).

I've got an iPhone. It paired up perfectly the first time, and it displays battery and signal strength as well as all call functions performing properly. I don't know what Roffles is going on about, but so far this thing has been sublime. It doesn't need any 'extra' accessories to work like it should.

I was going on about an article I read that said Apple's bluetooth is a special "Apple" type of bluetooth that won't mate to all cars...perhaps it's older cars that the article was talking about. It looks like we are safe in our TSX if you want to piss away $600 with an $80 monthly contract.

No need to turn this into an iphone bitch fest. If you don't like it, take it to off topic and let everyone know how you feel. But as far at the TSX and HFL is concerned, iPhone utilizes Handsfree Profiles v1.5 (more than enough for Acura HFL enabled vehicles) and broadcasts both signal and battery strength.

1st post on acurazine (except for the new owners thread) - great site!!

Traded my 03 RSX/S in on a red TSX a couple days ago (absolutely love it) and my Verizon xv-6700 pocket pc phone wouldn't pair. So I tried my older Treo 650, and it paired, but would unpair every time I left the car, which meant I'd have to repair every time I got back into the car (not gonna do it). I then dug my even older moto V710 outta the closet and whadda know, it works perfectly. BTW, my mom's bmw 750 only pairs with the old V710 too. I guess verizon just tweaks most their phones firmware too much. I hope you like your iPhone, I'd personally love to have one myself. Please keep us advised.

This is good news. Now I have no more excuse not to get one. Thanks.

sarasotasun, the Treo 650 will pair every time. You have to go into the bluetooth menu on it and add handsfreelink as a "trusted" device, after that it will re-pair with the car automatically. I had one of these phones a while ago, it worked with no problems.

I can confirm as well, iPhone working fine with '06 TSX. I noted that it seemed a little quieter than my Moto E815, so I found myself turning up the volume on the car speakers a little higher.

I got my Iphone on Friday. I FREAKIN LOVE IT! Its more fun than my TSX! I can't pair it up yet because my car is in the shop getting a new rear bumper cover. Some dump girl hit me while i was sitting at a redlight.

Yup, once you trust the HFL, the phone pairs up every time (Sammys are like that, too).
