question about converting acura key fob

Hi, I plan to trade in my vw golf for an acura sometime within the next few months and was wondering if there was anyway at all to convert an acura key and fob into a vw or audi key fob. With a blank vw key fob costing anywhere from 200-300 bucks, I know it wouldn't be cheap, but I would definitely do it if it's possible.
any help on the subject would be great. Thanks.

And no, there is no easy way. I suppose you could custom wire one if you really wanted to try...

We also have a Jetta and I do like the "switchblade" VW keys, but I think the Imobollizer (sp?) in the TSX would prevent the conversion.

I think its cause he likes the flip design of the VW keys. Which I agree... its pretty cool and I kinda wish we had them but... oh well nothing we could do about it now!

I wish Honda made better key fobs. The Honda Accord 2003 fob is a good start but it still needs help from the germans!

Actually...
I think someone was selling some of these a while back that would actually fit the euro accord and someone was inquiring here that maybe it might fit the TSX. It was a while back. But i definately remember the post.

I think it's around $100 just for the key, and then you have to have it cut and them programmed.

The conclusion was that it was a big hassle and the person basically got flamed for asking. But i know that this is out there.

Right on! this is the kind of positive feedback im used to in the MKIV forum on the vortex.. All g, I am a bit partial to the "switchblade" design of VAG key fobs and do wish that japanese automakers, with the exception of toyota/lexus, integrate the key and remote into a single unit. Having said that... glad to be a part of the community and hope to make my membership official when I finalize the decision on a TSX or RSX. Late.
