Well, the 08 TL-S was $33629 OTD. After dealership add on's and such, car was just over 41K. So I think I got a pretty decent deal.

So, you don't want to be my twin anymore? Just kidding. PM Ron A or Astro for a name change.

I really haven't had a good photo shoot yet, but here's a few pics. Mine is on the right and Drigo's is on the left, as you face the cars.

Hello,
I would like you advice on this. At the moment i have a 2008 TSX non navi. I was thinking of upgrading to a 2008 navi. For 2800 out of pocket i can upgrade to a navi? is this a good deal?
Thanks,
I will most likely get the deep green pearl

deep green huh?

rare.

2800 is a lot for a nav.
the aftermarket ones only cost hundreds.

I wouldn't drive the non-nav though, don't like the look of the dash
and screens or whatever.

so it all depends on how picky/anal you are really.

I test drove the 09 TSX today and the saleslady was tempting me to trade my 04 TSX for the 08 TL-S demo cause they said they were clearing them out for the 09 TL with the new bodystyle. I said nah cause I'll wait for the 09 TL to come out and see what it looks like first. Also, my gf likes the 09 TSX and is waiting for the 09 Maxima to come out with also a new bodystyle.

2800 is kinda steep for a Navi. I wanna say between non-navi and navi it's usually about 2k.

that's why i hate options they balloon the car cost too much. then, when you sell it again it doesn't bring back much in resale value at all.

I only have 6200 on my pwp/parchment non navi. I got the car last august. is it worth losing about 3k in the trade in for just the navi?

I definitely would take a TL-S over a TSX any day, if i had the cash. Or if i was still shopping for cars and the TL-S are being given away at such nice deals.

Navi's are usually about a 2k difference from the normal price of the car. So 3k would be steep. I was 2k upsidedown in my deal. But going from an 04 TSX to 08 TL-S is a big difference in power and tech upgrades. So I thought it was well worth it.

Good luck.

The resale value arguments are all valid points, but why doesn't enjoyment of the option(s) get any consideration? Sure... maybe you spend $2k now, and don't get it back when you sell or trade-in the whip... but doesn't being able to use the navi and getting all your functions integrated into 1 tight little system count for something? When you buy concert tickets, are you expecting a payout at the end of the show? Any way you slice it, a car is a depreciating asset... in this case, the navi depreciates to $0 faster than the vehicle does.

It's only one man's opinion, but I'll never buy another car w/o factory navi. It's not just about the actual "find a place" benefit for me... but I'm not trying to rehash that whole topic again. I just wanted to point out that just because you don't get value at resale doesn't mean you don't get any value at all. In the cost-benefit analysis, you're only including the cost.

LovemyTSX: I was wondering where you purchase the TL-S? I was at Acura of Orange Park few month back looking at some MDX and I believe I saw like 60-80 TL Type S's. We were there just looking and not to buy but this dealer is pretty much pushing any cars out at way below invoice. I mean WAY below, rediculous prices. I would assume this was a volume dealer. They keep knocking off thousands of dollar everytime we said we were leaving lol. But then again my honda/acura days are over since I got rid of my 07 TL-S , too much problem .
Congrats and GL with yours.

Valves chattering badly(93octane) was my most concern, rear suspension knocking, brake groaning and some other little stuff that irritates me. Everytime the AC kicks on, the whole car jerks. Tinted windows all scratched up, install moleskin, moleskins glue comes apart, retint again Acura does nothing to fix any of the problem and gives me the " its normal" phrase all too common. Other then that, its a great car, not worth $30+k with poor customer service.

I dont know if these has been fixed for the 08. I just havent been on here for a while to read on.

It is a fun car, I'm loving mine so much. I hope none of those problems occur, sorry to hear about your trouble.

Drigo, if you didn't get a chance yet I posted some pics of mine on my thread if you want to take a look.

Yes, it was Acura of Orange Park. Drigo and Roxxor both bought their's there as well. They are a volume dealer and sell on average 100 a month. Sorry to hear about your problems. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have them. What are you driving now?

I saw a white one in the parking lot at working this morning. It's tight. Had to peek into the windows.

Scott, how hard was the license plate LED conversion? I've got mine on order along with RED LED door lights.
