Is power steering adjustable?

Took my car in to the shop to replace a bent rim from a pothole. They changed the rim, changed 2 front tires, and aligned the wheels. After, the power steering felt a lot stronger and there didn't seem to be as much feedback... drove kinda like a camry... my question is: is it even possible for them to adjust something like that or did I just get used to driving a messed up car?

Check your tyre pressure. Also, check that your front toe is 0 and not toe in like most tyre places like to set it to.

I had similar repairs in March for hitting a pothole, i.e. bent rim and alignment.

After hitting the pothole, did you notice vibrations or shaking? If so, how much did you drive with those vibrations after the pothole?

I think that driving with those vibrations for the time between the pothole and service MIGHT have somehow altered your steering. I do know that driving with a bent rim will eventually damage something else. I'm just suggesting the possibility that maybe it altered your steering. After I had those repairs, I still had very slight vibrations, but not the change in steering you have. So maybe something similar happened to you.

Just out of curiosity, can I also ask how much the rim cost you at your dealer? Man I payed $420 for just my rim. I thought it was a little steep and wondered if that price is normal or if I just got ripped.

After I hit the pothole my wheel was swaying back and forth and low speeds and there was vibration at high speeds. The power steering actually felt a little harder before I got things repaired.

I was at a local repair shop in NYC and they phoned acura of westchester for the rims and michelins... they were given the price of 540 per rim and 225 per tire. I didn't have enough foresight or options to argue so I paid. Since things came out to be a little over $1000 after taxes and labor, I am considering claiming this with my insurance ($500 deductible)... they said since it's not pre-approved there's a chance they might not cover the whole thing.

Anyways, this was really bad timing since I have to make a long drive tomorrow, but I am just glad my car feels good again.

I will check the tire pressures... see if things changed any.

Lastly, you guys do think the acura power steering is a lot weaker than the average car right? Cause right now mine feels seriously like a camry.

Same here, but I know what you're talking about. The steering is definitely heavier than a Camry, Corolla, etc. My old ('82) Accord I could turn the wheel with one finger while it was at a stop. Not that the TSX takes a Herculean effort, but there's a certain amount of force required to do that. More than a 1 finger touch.

anybody ever take off the power steering belt on the cl??
iv always cut the belt, immediatly after buying any of my cars. 85golf,88civic,93da,97cl, i was just wondering how it would feel due to the larger engine it mite be a little too much to handle.
i dont care for power steering, its lees responsive with it, if any body is like me maybe you can explain what im trying to say..

It's most likely just the new tires. Wait until all the release agents and other greasy left overs from the manufacturing process have worn off (300 to 500) miles and then reassess.

My 07 with 20kseems overboosted. Can turn with one finger. My sisters' 07 with 7k is really stiff. I was hoping it would be adjustable.
