Is Power breaking bad?

I read somewhere on the forum about power breaking(where you hold the break, while pressing the acc and let go of the break to squeal out. I was just wondering how bad this is for your car, and if it would help in early acceleration of your car? And I figure it kinda looks cool if your car can squeal out even if its cheating to do it. Let me know what you guys think.

to be honest i haven't treid it but I believe the tsx has a built in grandmother which won't let you brake torque above 2k. Maybe i'll try it on the ride home tonight.

Power braking is hard on the brakes (and possibly the tranny), but it's a lot less harmful than doing a neutral-drop!!

Put car in neutral, rev engine, put it in drive, your tranny drops out.

I know and it's totally obvious to the mechanic that's working on your car what you were doing.

In a FWD car you "power brake" with the ebrake... which is still stubid but at least you are not destroying your brakes...
