Plus or minus sizing for winter tires

So the stock size is 215-50-17.

for winter tires, shall I plus-size by going with 225-45-17 or minus-size by going with 205-55-17?

which option is better for driving in snow?

go small for winter tires for sure...but better idea would probably get a smaller wheel to go with it as well...a 15" would be okay and save money on the tires for a smaller size..so you end up with winter wheels and tires as to just winter tires...atleast this is what i would think is prolly the best choice

I went with 205/60/16's. There is only a 0.9% size difference which is'nt even noticeable on the speedo.

Most people here who bought snow's went with 16's inch steelies and that tire size as well. Gilbo 15's are kinda small. You have to go to a 70 or 75 sidewalll for them to fit right which would ruin the outstanding FWD handling balance of the car.

I'm not sure 15" wheels will clear the rotors. The 16" steelies from the Accord LX V6 will clear.
