Please Help Me Select My Car Color
Hi everyone,
I am trying to select the car color I want (I want dark interior) and I am considering colors from the darks to the lights:
- Premium White Pearl
- Arctic Blue Pearl
- Carbon Gray Pearl
- NightHawk Black Pearl
I like the look of the White, and it should be cooler and easier to clean. However, I really like the black, though I know it will be a bit hotter here during the summer months in LA and will be harder to keep clean. I also feel the same about the blue and gray.
1. What is the most common TSX color?
2. Is there any difference in paint quality based on color selected?
3. The blue and gray seem relatively dark, so it seems they would both be hotter and more difficult to keep clean than the white (just like the black). Would you agree that this is this true?
Thanks for any input.

The PWP is very nice, but the parchement (tan) leather looks best with that color IMO.
I personally have Arctic Blue Pearl with black interior and love the way it looks.
The black is also nice, but harder to keep clean and looking nice
Ultimately, go with your gut and you won't go wrong. I originally ordered the CGP, but the next day, called to change my color to the blue.
Good luck

Isn't the Arctic Blue Pearl pretty dark also, dark enough to where it shows dirt more?

It's probably in the middle of the spectrum of available cars.
Here's a pic.
Like I said, go with your gut. Don't buy a car because it might be more difficult to clean, or weather it with be too hot in the summer.
Get the color you want because you like it best.

Lighter colors seem to hold up better over time in direct sunlight compared to darker ones. I had two 88 Honda accords back in the day (white LXi hatchback and gray 4dr LX). I had to repaint the Gray car after 8 years and my daughters still has the white hatchback and the paint still looks good after 18 years. My red 97 accord's color died after 5 years and 3 of those years were kept outside in the Phoenix, AZ, sun 24/7.
The new TSX is garage kept at work and at home, it spends an average of 2 hours a day in the sun. I expect the color to last well past 12 years.
Unless you are planning on keeping your car for over 6-8 years, I think any color looks good (excluding the deep green pearl tree hugger color).

I have a PWP and love it. It was my first choice and dagnammit I'm happy as hell I waited the 3 months for delivery on it. But sounds like your issue is which color keeps the cleanest, and with that said go with the CGP my brother has one and he's not really the type to wash his car everyweek or even once a month, and the color holds up pretty well. From a distance it always looks clean untill your 4 feet from the car. I believe SSM holds up pretty well also, silver usually always does on any car. So take that into consideration. If your gonna maintain the cars appearence then run with PWP or black.

I was in the same situation as you and ultimately chose PWP. It is best to just look at each car in person and see which one really catches your eye...

hey, Hey, HEY! What's wrong with DGP? I knew that it was the color for me as soon as I laid my eyes on it. I get lots of compliments on the color, and you don't see it around every corner.
P.S.: Nothing wrong with being a tree-hugger either.... as long as it's in moderation.

FWIW, my initial choice was Arctic Blue. Then, it was Carbon Grey, but then I decided on Silver.
Why?
I realized that the neutral Silver would fit in with any color schemes and surroundings, be it in the driveway of my home or whatever colors I might be wearing. Nothing really clashes with silver.
Yes, it's a common color for cars, and I like that the color does not stand out or attract particular attention.
I got the black interior. It cools off quickly--I mean quickly, such that I've never had a problem getting into my TSX on a hot day. On a really hot day, I will use the key FOB to lower all the windows before I get in, but it's never been an issue. The air conditioner is literally a blast--the best a/c I've ever had in a car--and it cools things down quickly too.

I love black too, but the only thing I got against black is the amount of time you have to spend cleaning it. I owned a NBP Accord 2003 V6 Coupe and it was a bitch to clean. Swirl marks, scratches, dirt, anything shows in a mile away. Sometime it looks gray from far too

How about Glacier Blue?
I was very very torn between the PWP and GBM. I am not gonna lie the first couple of days that I had my car I second guessed my judgement. At this point I am happier than ever with such a rare color. I live here in Memphis, TN and I rarely see any TSX's. All of the ones that I do see are PWP and CGP. Maybe I am the only on in the city with this Glacier Blue? It is the perfect mix of blue and silver!!

??? PWP = SEX ?? Where did that come from? What's the analogy that makes PWP = SEX??
When I see all these white cars out there, and I am reminded of appliances, such as washing machines, dryers, fridges...or maybe a white wedding dress--hardly anything sexy.
And what about the PWP interior color?? Not sure what the current interior color selections are, but it used to be this beige-or tan with off-white or beige carpetting? Now that can be hard to keep clean looking! Is the interior color suppose to = SEX, too???
I've heard that the nice thing about white is that it's easier to clean, but in the case of PWP, the paint job is layered, and if you have any body repair done, it's hard to get a really good paint to match.
In some cultures, white = death; in others, black = death. Not a good choice if you consider cross cultural meanings.
Given the four colors the original poster indicated, the blue and the grey are nice compromises between the extremes of white or black, IMHO.
