DVD-Audio is, once again, not the same as a data DVD with audio files on it. DVD-As can store more music at higher quality than CDs but (due to the high bitrate) far less than a data DVD with mp3s on it.

Mp3

A friend of mine has 2005 TSX and he has the MP3 player from the factory and he has the NAVI which does not make a difference. The MP3 player is about $550.00. It's also avaible for the 2006.

Yeah that's one reason I got the iPod . . . the dealer MP3 CD player seemed like a rip off to me for the price it was being sold for . . .

It is one -- for half the price you can get a much better head unit installed in that spot using the aux in. The only thing you don't get is information display on the primary head unit display or nav screen (I actually don't know what kind of info you get using the factory option data-CD player -- judging by the info you get with stock sources it's probably pretty crappy), but big deal, you just look at the display on the other head unit.

I wish the stock non navi cd system had CD Text support. The ability to display text is there (Otherwise XM would be impossible to navigate)... Speakers are Pioneer I know, but if the head unit is Pioneer as well (and the "Premium Audio System") logo on the unit looks like a Pioneer font (Crazy, I know)

Ideas?

One Overlooked Factor

I'm not saying that anyone's TSX CD player can play MP3s but the computer guys are missing knowledge how mass production works sometimes. Occasionally you have to make 1000 units and you only have 990 of the lower cost parts. So you pop in 10 of the higher cost parts just to ship the order.

Not saying this could or would happen with the TSX stereo but never confuse the impossible with the highly improbable.

Now just for fun I'm going to try an MP3 disc in my TSX. It SHOULDN'T work but....

Nero sucks! 50% of anything i've ever used Nero for doesn't work in hardly any other cd player no matter what format, .wav or .mp3.

Looks like there is 1 advantage to "not" having an 06.
I have 2005 Canadian non-Navi TSX. Are you saying Mp3's work with the stock 6disc changer???

No one has proven to have gotten this to work - ever. Most who claim later come back and say they burnt an audio CD. The one or two cases I heard of that claimed it was a data CD were never proven.
