PDI checklist
PDI checklist
Hi folks,
I'm taking delivery tomorrow (SSM/ebony,6MT,non-navi) and was wondering if anyone could post a standardized checklist for things to look for during the pre-delivery inspection. Thanks.

oh yeah, i picked up my during the light and thought my headlights were not correctly aligned, but then i found out for HID lights that the drivers side light is lower so it doesn't blind on-coming traffic
BTW, u'll love the car... HIDs rock too
Check the doors (open and close them all to check for rattles), make sure they're aligned, paint surfaces, chrome, stereo (listen for buzzing noises), drive down a smooth road and take yours hands off the steering wheel for a quick moment (for alignment). Those are all important, there are more but I can't think of any at the moment. Good luck and enjoy your car!
Most people don't do this, but check all the leather surfaces and the headliner for stains. If you had some over anxious service guy checking in your car, the sometimes might leave a hand print on the headliner.
Acura does a very thorough checkin on the cars, but give everything a good look... including door jams. Operate everything (windows, moonroof, seats, seatbelts, armrest, etc)while your getting your intro from the sales guy.

To verify that the work is being checked out by more than one person at the store, there is a maintainace journal for each car from Acura in the customer portfolio. In this book is has the entire checklist for the PDI tech once the car is in their inventory. There are carbon copies of this checklist, its completion, and the authorization from the tech and at least 1 other dealer rep stating that the car is perfectly operational to Acura's standards. The customer has a page in which they sign off on the car stating that they agree that the car is fine in addition to their acknowledgement that they have received the necessary literature that comes with their vehicle.
Don't forget to check tire pressure. A lot of us, unknowingly, had overinflated tires coming off the lot, which made for a rough ride.
Make sure the power driver's seat moves smoothly, because many TSXers had grinding problems.
Check the headliner where it meets the top of the rear windshield. Sometimes it's poorly sewn, and will result in an annoying rustling sound. You can test it by tapping near the edge of the headliner, to see if it's rustling.
