Yup, I have a 05 Elise that will get a K series motor transplant this summer. Fully built, turbo... though I just sold my racecar 1993 240sx with a sr20det (turbo) motor, & Honda RC-51 (131rwhp).

This is hardly performance or parts related. Moving to general discussion...

I work with you realtors and know how much you guys drive. But then again, when you sell a house out here in CA, you make up for it. I don't make the big commission bucks like you guys do. My worst week so far in my new car has been 1,000 miles. Filling up 3 times that week at $3.50/gallon sucked *ss.

Yup. It's not that easy to sell a house though. Everyone likes to ask for kick backs, and cutting commission... BLAH. I feel you on the 1,000 miles in a week. I've cut down so that I don't do that anymore. I'm averaging 2000/month instead of 4000/month like when I first got in this business 2 years ago.

You're paying $3.45/gallon for Gasohol? Jeez, that's only hurting your fuel economy and performance while costing a ton. I didn't think CARB approved Gasohol for sale in CA.

California absolutely uses ethanol, now that mtbe has been phased out. Wow, $3.25/gallon. In Iowa (granted, it's Iowa), 91 oct is about $2.65/gal. and, presently, there's no ethanol in it. The rack price of ethanol is higher than gasoline, in some places by a lot. It's in the gasoline only by mandate, not by economics.

Do you know when CARB authorized ethanol? When I was stationed in San Diego/Camp Pendleton it was all MTBE, IIRC. This was in 2002.

You're lucky that you're one of the sucessful ones. So many that I've talked to have sold at the most 2 homes and then quit the business. It takes some tenacity.

I don't have a problem with Realtors as long as they look out for their clients, that's what they're there for. I can't stand the fly-by-night "I want to be rich" bastards (which you don't seem you are).
