Ordered yesterday, but delivery in January

I ordered my TSX yesterday!! - pwp, 6-speed manual, and with Navi. But I was asked if I have any second choice.... they say this combination has been extremely popular, and production has never been able to catch up. They say the expected delivery for my TSX will be either late December or early January! - I can wait, I know it takes time to see good things to happen, but it was kind of interesting to hear them saying that manuals are being oversold than their expectation and their production pace.

BTW, I got $500 off from the MRSP. Should I be pleased? - I am happy anyway 'cause I am getting a TSX!

That freaking sux man.
I wanted the artcic Blue 6MT but they said 2 month wait as well.
I really couldnt wait but im no where near dissapointed.
The SS appeases my need to switch or race some ricer in my hood.
And the automatic works great when im stuck on the FDR or Cross bronx exp.

wow.....that's long.
Wait for what you want and dont jump on whats available.
btw, hard to believe manuals are hard to find compared to auto.

I want an auto and was told there are none available in the whole state of texas!!

This car in general is hard to get in exactly what options you want

They don't build nearly as many manuals because they think everybody will just want the automagic. Mazda had the same issue on their 6s. Demand for 6s/manual equipped cars exceeded expectations by a lot which created big supply vs demand issues.

I had to wait 3 months plus an extra week when the ran out of rail cars to ship it over so I know how you feel.

Thats funny that the 6-speeds are being oversold. You'd think when they put so much into making such a good transmission they'd get ready for them to sell. O-well be prepared to reread the same phamplets over and over again while you wait. Thats what I did :P

Although Tony and some others have had to wait ALMOST that long, it sounds like a very unusual wait.

Have you checked with other dealers? You never know.

BTW -- If this kind of wait becomes common, it'll mean almost certainly that the deals WON'T be getting better in the coming months.

The January delivery date is believable for new orders being placed.

Congrats on the discount off MSRP, but WATCH OUT for the dealer taking it back by inventing phony _totally_ arbitrary "fees" like dealer prep, dealer association fees, extra freight, etc.

From what I've seen at various dealers who are not engaging in collusion or price fixing, $500 off MSRP may be average.

I take this to heart because people get screwed over and over and over...and no dealer has challenged me on this.

When you negotiate and place a deposit, get a Dealer's "Review Deal" sheet!!!! It shows you your negotiated price, plus tax, license/registartion, modest $50 doc fees, and OTD total. Make sure no trumped up dealer fees are on the Review Deal sheet.

That's nothing. I know a couple who had to wait a year to get a Volvo XC90 in the color and spec that they wanted. Of course, they're an exceptional duo, as the husband is a die hard Volvo fan and has waited for the "it" car from Volvo, which turned out to be an SUV, but anyways, yeah, he's extremely gratified.

Here's a question for those of you waiting for 6MT's in your chosen colour. Lots of people have compromised on their first colour choice to get their car sooner. Would anyone be willing to take the 5AT to get it sooner? Or is the 6MT a must-have, not compromisable requirement for you?

I wonder because Acura predicted that something like 20% of customers will take the 6MT vs the 5AT. It's possible that the demand for the manual is actually higher than that. But if a large number of people who really want the manuals take autos instead then it becomes something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Conversely, I don't see many people wanting autos taking manuals instead.

I also wonder at what point in the production process they are able to adjust to changing demands from customers. I can't see that the entire production run is pre-planned down to every colour/option combination. There must be some flexibility to meet real-world demand.

MT is a must-have. It's a deal killer if I can't get it. I had ordered a Carbon Grey, and was prepared to wait till the end of the year or so to get it. My salesperson offered me a number of other colors that showed up--AB, MR, NB--but I declined until a Satin Silver showed up, and since my pickup is already a Carbon Grey, I thought that some contrast between the two would be nicer than having two Carbon Grey vehicles.

The Carbon Grey is a very handsome color for the TSX, but I don't regret getting the Satin Silver under the circumstances.

I would be very curious what the break-down is between AT and MT TSX sales.

That is the exact combination I have. I had no idea it was that popular of a choice. You are obviously a person of impeccable taste.
