Opinions on 'break in time' for new (honda) engines.

Typically, I've always heard the '500mile' rule when breaking in new engines.

Any feedback on how long someone has wait until you started going over 6 grand regularly? I done it a couple of times since rec'd, currently about 485miles on in.

FYI - - 06' Carbon grey, AT, 17" HP wheels (still need to switch at dealer).

According to my friend who works in the assembly line, he says that they "break it in" in the factory already when they test the engine before putting it in the car. He says that there is no need to do so. I don't know if this is true or not though.

Tony, welcome to the board

We actually have a thread going about the break-in process already. Try a quick search you'll find it. There is already a great deal of commentary on what people think about the break-in process.
