One-Touch moon roof on 2006 TSX?
Hi guys!
I just got my CG TSX '06!!!
^.^
One thing I was so looking forward to, was the "one-touch moon-roof" feature!
I tested it .. and I had to hold it to open!!
Checked the manual .. it said I had to "hold" the button down ...
Could any other 2006 TSX owner verify if there is indeedly a "one-touch moon-roof" feature??
Is the Canadian version different??!@!
Thx!

I ain't using my moonroof until spring at least. It's too bloody cold right now. Well, I will if we get one of those occasional 20C or higher days in mid-Dec again.

The website had alluded as such in the interactive showroom, under the overhead controls section. Let me quote it:
Moonroof Design
For fresh ventillation and to minimize turbulence, touch the controls and open the power moonroof. Tinted glass and a sliding sunshade help control radiant heat when the sun is overhead.
When I touch something, I don't expect to have to hold it down for 5 seconds for it to do its thing. So it's a bit of a letdown, but nothing a little modding couldn't cure =)

I think Acura should take a page out of VW for moonroof operation.
Just sat in a friend's new Jetta and the moonroof is controlled by a dial with different presets.
Each notch on the dial represents a certain distance that the moonroof will open.

It wouldn't be so bad if it were in the center console area and I was using my right hand to operate it, but because I'm forced to use my left, it just feels awkward. It also wouldn't be so bad if it was left hand and one touch.

So for 5 seconds I'm kinda reaching over to my left in an awkward position holding down the button, maneuvering my head a bit because the steering wheel blocks a direct view from my normal driving posture, and focusing on the sound of the wind dropping out as the sunroof closes, and processing all of the traffic going on around me on the highway. That's just not the most ergonomic design in the world, don't you think?

Once your finger's on it, holding the button's not very distracting. Finding it in the first place is the real problem, especially with that close array of three little buttons.
So... why can't I voice-command the moonroof? And the windows, and locks, and mirror heaters and dimmers...
Probably don't want to pop the hood with a voice command, though...

Ok, I recant any issues I had with the sunroof not being one-touch. Just went out for a drive to look at a nearby house and it's pretty easy to see at night. Couple tries and I could get it by touch, without looking, left-hand notwithstanding. I guess the middle button helps it stand out, though I did notice that I had turned off VSA by accident in the process. And just for the record, it's only 3 seconds of holding it down. I must have been recalling one particular incident with the sunroof, probably when I had backseat passengers and had my seat shoved forward, requiring an awkward craning of the neck to see the button =)

Doesn't bug me, just an oddity. Nothing like scraping the shit out of your bumper with your garage door. (Sorry, can't let that go yet.)

I think KP Technologies is making something for the TSX that will convert the moonroof to one touch. Moda_way mentioned it in some of the threads for the auto window roll up module.
