oil change question

I"m in the process of ahanging my oil right now and have a question. The service manual says to replace the washer on the oil pan drain plug after draining the oil, but I do not see on e to replace. Do I need to add one?

Thanks

eh, u see no washer? thats not good. u need a "crush washer" when you change your oil. The "crush washer" ensures that you have tightly closed your the drain hole and prevents the bolt from striping the oil pan by crushing the washer.

i would reccomend a crush washer for sure. They are very cheap and you can get them more or less any parts place/home store. Wha'ts your mileage at?

When you get the filter for the change, get it from the dealer. They'll give you the washer with it. Use the Honda filter. I have to say it.

Even with a crush washer, I would still use a torque wrench.

Hey, I changed my oil while in Chicago for the meet Brian. The crush washer happens to be painted black on the edge so it may look like it is part of the drain plug. Fear not, its there and yes you should change it every oil change.
