official chick car?
I live in the Philly area and see about a 50/50 split with the TSX. Like some others said, when it's a woman it's a middle aged one. I noticed the same about the TL when I had one and checked who was driving other ones. I know this may sound sexist, but it seems like young women go for the lower end, i.e. the Honda and not the Acura.

FWIW, I've haven't noticed a biased ratio one way or the other and I see on average 3 to 5 other TSXs on the road per day. The cars that are most likely to have a woman behind the wheel around me are the stupid huge SUVs.
^^^^ are you saying mostly young asian male drive tsx's.... btw... i know of 5 other tsx's in my area.... and they are young asian male.... including me.... but then again there are a number of females driving the tsx here.... stock looking tsx=female..... dropped tsx with tasteful rims= male....

Jeez, all this speculation over anecdotal "evidence".
How about some real data:
http://www.jdpower.com/autos/Acura/tsx/2007
53% female, 47% male
Slight advantage to the ladies, but pretty much a wash. Hardly a "chicks car".

Thanks for that link, I saw that demographic. For the 2007 TSX it was 53% female 47% male, but for the 2008 TSX it was 53% male and 47% female. Hmmm....
Also, that's bs about the tv shows, I don't like Law and Order! Wtf?

I don't think the TSX is a "chick car", I think its just not a "guy car" ...if that makes sense. Most honda/acuras are neutral in this way.

me too, but i also think that of that middle range, 35-55, most probably sit in the 35-42 range. i think the older acura buyers probably go for the TL

The TSX we have is for my wife and she loved the way the TSX looked compared to the TL. The TL's larger size didn't fit her as well compared to the TSX (she 4'11"). We just made a deal and I get to add any accessory once we got the TSX (a-spec kit, clear bra, RSB, suspension, etc..).
Besides, do you want your car to be a chick magnet or a dick magnet? Every woman that rode in my TSX loved the car. So far in N.M., I see a lot of M.I.L.F driving the TSX and TL around town.

This is a good point, but it still hurts when your boss goes out and buys his wife the same car you drive. Is he at some level trying to reinforce to me that I am his bitch? I guess.
Oh well my girlfriend is dryving the TSX most of the time now - I am on my way out to get a Bronco II with 35 inch wheels.

(And on an equally valuable note, in my company more women own cars with manual transmissions than men do -- and the men significantly outnumber the women, too. Does this mean it's more macho to drive an automatic?

Personaly I think it's genderless, its a classy, minimalisticly styled car. I googled the topic and found http://www.forbes.com/2005/05/23/cx_dl_0523feat.html
and it has some interesting insights that apply to the TSX issue. For example, "The average horsepower (hp) of a car on our list of the five most popular vehicles with men is 367; with women, it's 172.* " so the TSX leans bitch car with respect to horsepower.

Neither of these cars has anywhere near this much oomph. Does Honda even have a 300 hp+ car?
How many 350+ hp cars are even sold in the country each year?

Does any one here actually feel emasculated when they drive their car? If so you've got some serious insecurities to work out. Or maybe you just shouldn't have gone with that pink on pink color scheme. :P

I think the Forbes survey was a "Dream Car" survey for men. It has been 10 years the last time I've seen a NSX on the road. I think Acura only sells about 5 NSXs per year. I think the men in the survey were thinking with the wrong head, the women on the survey were more realistic in their survey answers. I willing to bet most of the men on the survey mostly drive minivans and/or 4dr sedans made by Honda/Toyota/Ford/Mazda/GM/Nissan (me included).
The only Honda/Acura vehicle with 300 HP is the MDX. Unless you have a truck/SUV, it is hard to find a +350 hp car in most folk’s price range.

(Combine that with 205 hp and a 7100 RPM redline,
) Driving an automatic, on the other hand...

=[ i can feel you on that about the Northern Virginia area... I think at least 80% are all ladies... mostly around the 30's-40's... The rest is all male.
I do work at Quantico though and probably most of the TSX's I see there are all male so I keep my pride in that...
About a couple months ago though, everyday coming back home from work on 95 North at 2:30PM -3PM I did see a clean white TSX with a OEM lip kit, gold emblems, and at least a 15% Tint with a cute female as the driver... Pulled up to it a couple times but got no attention =[ must of been her bf/husbands car.

TSX is a "chick" car just like more women probably drive celicas than men...but who cares? it's a nice looking car at perhaps the best value when you can pluck them off the lot at 1-2k under invoice.

There is much insecurity in this thread...
