OEM spoiler question

After doing some search on the 04 TSX spoiler. Ebay is selling some painted one for 150 bucks and 30 bucks for shipping. So I am just wondering if anyone here has experience with those spoiler off ebay in terms of quailty, paint. And are they the same one that I could get it in the dealer? I know the dealer is selling it for ~400 or so.

Not sure about the quality or whatnot but I believe the OEM dealer spoiler comes with new springs so that when you pop the trunk open it compensates for the weight of the spoiler.

What color are you looking for and where are you located? CCColtsicehockey is looking to get rid of his and will do it for free if you want to just swap trunk lids with him.

Yes the OEM one should come with new torsion springs. And the only way you'd be able to tell the difference is the OEM has TSX stamped on the bottom side of it.

Yea, I've read through some of the seller's feedback and they did have some good feedback on others car spoiler like nissan and honda.

Have you been able to confirm with the seller whether or not this spoiler comes with a new spring like the OEM one would? I'm interested in purchasing a spoiler from eBay myself, but I would like to maintain the functionality of having the trunk slightly popping up when I open it.

This is what the description said '# NO need to change trunk springs or struts as spoilers are very lightweight. This does not apply to Terminator style wings.'

So I ordered one.

Good for you. Keep us posted on how it works after you get it installed. I also emailed the same seller asking whether or not (s)he ships the spoiler to Canada. I'm waiting for a response.

Just a warning, that even the OEM dealer spoiler isn't perfect. Every so often, the spoiler becomes wobbly and I'd have to tighten the nuts under the hood cover. Anyone else have this problem?

Have had mine since June 2003 and not a single issue. Remove the bolts, add some loctite, and torque down to spec. That should solve the problem.

Sorry I don't mean to pick on this little thing, but does yours pop up slightly when it gets opened remotely? Have you experienced any rattles?

The trunk should (I installed trunk shocks but prior to that...) pop open about 2-3" and stay there. I have the set of the torsion bars since I went to trunk shocks. My reason was the plastic clip that holds the tension in the bars kept popping out and Acura couldn't fix it after 3 attempts. I was fed up with it, so I fixed it myself.
