Hi -

Recently I had a damage to the rear bumper cover, and I am going to get it replaced. How do I know that the bodyshop person is putting a OEM bumper cover and not any other one, like aftermarket etc. Will there be any Acura seal or anything to identify on the parts.

What did you do?
Likely they will just fix your bumper cover, even if you have a hole in it.

 

Try looking at the inside of the part it should have a part # 04715-SEC-A90ZZ stamped somewhere , i think its on the bottom of the cover in the middle. Im pretty sure ours are stamped but I have'nt ordered one yet so I can't be 100%.

Also try asking where he gets his parts and call the dealer to confirm he bought it from him.

I work for a company that distributes aftermarket parts. There are currently no TSX bumpers made in Taiwan. The only thing available right now are the bumper reinforcements and some brackets. So I'm 99.999999% sure you will get a Acura/Honda bumper regardless where you buy it.
