Oh wow, that T1R pulley is insanely tempting.

Edit: Marcus, assuming the credit crunch sorts itself out, you can expect me to order one of those pulleys... I'm salivating. That will be installed with my supercharger in Spring 2009.

so the T1R is simply an OEM replacement?
just a lightweight alternative to the OEM?

Yes. Which makes a huge difference. No under/overdriving, but your engine revs quickly and freely.

I really need to get that pulley.

This is because the pic was scanned out of the catalog. Its the best I have for the time being unfortunately. The top half is polished, the bottom has a satin finish that matches the interior. There is a thin red stripe separating the top and bottom halves.

if the AT one looked similar, I would own one.
I don't like the new AT knob myself.

The claim is that changing the pulley (and the integrated harmonic balancer) will allow excess vibration in the crankshaft leading to fatigue, runout, or even failure.

This is a blanketed automotive truism that holds water in a lot of cases. But remember that much of our motorsports wisdom is handed down from the V8 guys...whose engine layout and oem build quality leaves much to be desired. These engine are built to wider specs with poorer materials and parts designs than your Honda engine. The risk of self destruction is much lower than some would have you believe. In fact many people have been running lightened pulley for years without widespread failures that might be warned of online.

You'd probably be lopping 50K miles off the expected life of your motor, which if serviced well should be well into the 200-300K mile range.

So I'd not worry about it.

Any opinions on this combo: T1R Crank Pulley paired with UR Pulleys minus the UR Crank Pulley?

The UR pulley is underdrive, so it is going to give more power than the T1R. But you might have the consideration of lessening the charging ability of the alternator, which is addressed with the overdriven alternator pulley in the NST kit...

My Idea and opinion on a light weight crank pulley, because we do not have a V layout for our engine the only force being put on crank is from on direction not two. With just an inline engine there really is no need for a harmonic balance. I have held the original crank pulley in my own hand and there is no special weighting with it, its just heavier. If I had the money I would jump on it, but I am college student and the money is better spent elsewhere on a limited budget. Just my opinion, its no expert opinion so please take it with a grain if salt if desired.
