This is possible for them to run your car for 40 miles. If you disconnect the battery for too long, it will reset the computer. The computer will run the car in "lean" mode. You will have no power at all. You need to push it for awhile till the computer re-learn your driving habit.

Or get one of those GPS things in the trunk. So, you can see exactly where and how fast they are test driving your car. (hmm... if that thing can pick up the GPS in the trunk...)

I don't have an alignment problem and I don't have any rattles. And why is that the only solution? I NEVER said I wouldn't let mechanics work on my car.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....this is very interesting. I would be mad. But if all the rattles are fixed. I would see that it was not joyriding but diagnosis.

I would be thinking of giving them this:

For some, it's the principle. Some just don't prefer that their cars are messed with especially with those that can't be trusted. Regardless, 40 miles is excess miles to diagnose rattles.

If you have a VTEC controller you can decrease the fuel at 4k or 5k RPM. I don't think it's any different than running it to fuel cut-off. I did that and my friend drove my car. Then he said it would jerk around when he drove it. So I knew he was driving like a mad man. But whatever cause I drive it like that everyday.
