Is this normal?

I'm happy that I'll be a new 06 owner in 2 days.
But the dealer charges me about $250 for the document fee for paper work and other stuffs. I think it's kinda too much. Is this normal in other dealer?
Thanks

Tax, title and license is all you should pay.

Yea, that doc fee is horseshit. I tell them its their cost of doing business, not mine.

Shawnypark, generally, depending on what state you live in, things such as doc fees and other extraneous fees are considered an effort by the dealer to pad his profit on the backside of the transaction.

As joerockt said, TT&L is all you are obligated to pay. Most all other fees are negotiable, so take a hard stance with the salesman and refuse to pay them. He is more desperate to sell the car than you might think, because it's his livliehood. You do have to be prepared to walk though.

Since with the TSX you are probably paying substantially more than invoice, you should definitely refuse to pay these fees. The stealer is probably already making a nice profit on the car.

Illinois has doc fees. It's a mandatory state fee. I guess your dealership could choose to eat the fee. But you'd probably end up paying for it in the price of the car anyway.

I don't think it's state required, but it is state allowed. What is required, is that if you charge one person, you need to charge everybody.
