Newer year or lesser KM
hey im looking for a first car and really like the TSX and CSX type S but i dont know which one to choose
i am currently looking at a few choices and need some thoughts on them
1) 2004 White TSX no navi w/ black interior and 80,000KM
price = 12,900
2) 2006 Grey TSX no navi w/ black interior and 140,000KM (with winter tires)
Price = 13,950
3) 2005 Black TSX no navi w/ beige interior and 140,000KM (with winter/all seasons)
Price = 11,500 (only one ive contacted so far and hes willing to go down to 10,000)
4) 2007 CSX type S w/ 130,000KM (2 pairs of rims winter/summer)
Price = 14,0000
i know theres issues with the 2004 tsx but its a decent price for the amount of KM

'06 is the better car, but you can do a lot with $2.5k. I'd go with the '05 since the guy sounds willing to negotiate. I say this with the assumption that everything else is equal (everything works, nothing is excessively worn, the engine doesn't use oil, etc).
When I was in the market for a car, the selling point was the 6-speed gearbox. I actually had no intention of buying one, but a salesman talked me into a test drive of an '04 manual, and I fell in love with the silky smooth shifts. 3 years later I bought the '06.
Anyways, it depends on what is important to you. If your primary concern is economics, the '05 is the way to go because cars are among the worst investments you can make due to depreciation. If you want the best performing car with the most features, the '06 is it. If you want something luxurious to drive while in traffic, the '04 is worth consideration. I don't know anything about the CSX. Is that a Civic?

The 06 will also have:
- About 15 extra HP compared to the 04/05 (04/05 are only rated at 190hp, compared to 205hp for the 06-08 TSX)
- 2 person memory seats, power passenger seat (05 had power passenger)
- Built in fog lights
- Low profile windshield wipers
- No XM radio on 04 (don't know about XM on the CSX)
- Maint reminder for all service with MID
- Updated MID/trip computer
- Nice little confirmation "beep" when press the remote lock twice when you lock your doors (no honk)
- Faster and updated Navi (if you decide on totally different one with a Navi)
- 600 voice commands for phone, A/C, radio, CD, XM, FM, Navi, etc...
- Bluetooth for hands free phone
- AUX connector for music
- Everything is one year newer and the majority of TSB were addressed by 06.
- updated styling on 06 (no chrome on hood, thicker steering wheel, hand grip bumps on steering wheel, updated shift knob)
- You can do Hondata or comptech S/C with the 06, more bang for the buck with the extra HP with the 06 extra power.
I’ve had my 06 since new and the minor improvements are worth it for me. Unless you like the styling of the 04/05 better, the 06 TSX is the “sweet spot” for the 04-08 model years (especially with a 6MT).
