New TSX on the Way

Well, I finally did it! I put money down a SSM/Ebony non navi AT for the price I wanted. Right now I feel pretty good although I am upset the car had about 30 miles on it. I wanted to be straight out of the factory but it wasnt meant to be...hope there is no harm in buying a car with those test miles on it.

I am pretty excited but I am sure I will have buyer's remorse before taking delivery. I already am fretting about the 30 miles and worrying if there will be any rattles.

Thanks to everyone for their help....appreciate all those who responded to my many posts/inquiries!

You'll like it!

Fretting about 30 miles? 30 mpg? There are no or very few vehicles that present the combination of luxury and driving fun that the TSX presents that get 30 mpg.

Oh sorry. My error.

I took mine with 45 miles. It had 35 on it the day before when I test drove it.

I figure worst could have happened, the piston rings got set a bit better than I would have had the balls to . . . .

Enjoy!

Welcome to the club!

Mine came with a ridiculously low mileage (like 2 kilometres) but now it rattles like there's no tomorrow. Hopefully yours will be the opposite.

Best of luck! Enjoy the car.

mine had 200, it was a test drive car.... I haven't had problems with rattles at all. The test drivers took care of them for me

Buyers Remorse

Thanks for all the responses. After a restless nite's sleep worrying about my new car, there are some issues I hope you can help me with. First, when we were leaving the dealer, I saw tucked away in the corner a brand spanking new car that is exactly like the one I bought with the 30 miles on it. Should I argue that I want that one instead? I feel sort of ripped off by the dealer...but I guess I should have looked around before testing out the car I bought. Second, the inside of the car had some mud on the driver's side door and top of steering column. I have no idea how it got there (dirty hands by driver at factory) but it now has me wondering if it was on the train! The Vin is in the 25K range.

Any help for a future TSX'er that is scared stiff about his purchase would be appreciated!!

The car getting dirty probably happened at the dealer and you probably can't swap for the other one.

Thanks Biker - I saw you on the forum and hope you would answer. Could the 30 miles on the car be a bad thing in terms of breaking in the engine etc??

Geez don't worry about 30 miles! The car has a waranty for 5 year/40k miles and honda engines are known to last and last with little effort. Just how long do you plan to keep it? Mine had 122 miles on it when I got it(it was driven from one dealership to the one I purchased it from) I wasn't jumping up for joy about the miles at the same time I didn't let it upset me after all chances are I won't have the car much past 50k miles any way. There are real problems in the world to worry about, enjoy the car and a week after you get it the 30 miles will be a distant memory. What could they have done in 30 miles to damage the car??

Worst they could have done is thrash it a little. And a little thrashing is good for the breakin. See the thread started by Clutch Performer on engine breakin.

30 miles is nothing really. I got my TSX with 122 on it because it had to be driven from another dealership in the trade.

Just enjoy it and forget about it.

As a side note I have 1100 miles in 2 weeks, all of which are rattle free. So far so good.....got my fingers crossed.

Mine had 0.8 miles when I first rode it. Ah, brings back the memories of October 03'.

Now with 10.5k miles, there are two rattles (driver side, windshield), one fender bender on the left side of the bumper, and dirty mats!

So, I recommend driving less during the snow, avoiding women who drive tank cars (SUV, Old Volvo's), and purchasing all-season mats.
