Question New member and First question

Hello All I've been following this website for a while now getting ALOT of useful information and nice mods too. But now I'm stuck at my interior LEDs and I've used the search button found many topics related to LEDs but none explain HOW-TO remove the Dome lights in front and back. I just don't want to break anything while forcing it out.

Did I miss a Detailed install somewhere, bondgirl's post just shows How it's made in wire frame type, but doesn't say much on how to remove it?

Any Help?

thanks

Dave F.

I did mine just by feeling my way through it. Go slow and you won't break anything. They really just pop out. I'd recommend having a very small flat-head screw driver handy (where the head is ~1/8" wide) and place a thin cotton cloth over it to help prevent scratches. Use it to pry (slowly) at the edges and it should become clear which side comes out first (fronts). I *think* the outer edges come out first on the fronts. The back is more straight forward. Just go slow - not too much muscle. You're right though - not much written down about doing it.

Moved to general discussion as the topic is not performance parts related.

I just wrapped something like a towel over the little lights and used neednose pliers. I was afraid at first and very ginger. They came out eventually. Put in blue LEDs, which everyone who's seen say is cool!

Thanks for the fast replies guys. Do I need to remove the Trim or just the plastic Lights covers?

Just the plastic light covers. I used a rag and small flat tip screw driver. Pry from the corners.

Yeah, just the covers. Removing them was tough for me, too, since they didn't come out naturally. I had to force them a little bit, as I pried with screwdriver. Not too sure if it was just my weak technique.

^^ I thought the same when I did mine - the first one went slow, but once I got it all was fine. Glad they worked out.

I don't understand this. The forum section is called Performance Parts & Modifications. It isn't a performance part, but it's definitely a modification. I've seen this with a lot of threads lately and it's just confusing. Don't mean to hijack.
