New to the fold...

Hi there.

And another new TSX owner is born. Tomorrow I pick up my '05 auto w/Nav in Graphite Pearl.

I must admit though, it will be hard to give up my current car, a beautiful 2001 A4 1.8t Quattro in Santorin Blue. Still, she was about to run out of warranty and free maintenance, and things might just have started to get 'spensive.

The only car I looked at that comes close to the interior refinements of the Audi was the TSX, so while I will miss the handling and road feel of the A4- I'll be more than content with the creature comforts and toys that the Acura offers. Besides, I saved quite a bit of money this way.

Couple of questions for the resident gurus (particularly fellow Canadians):
- Is it correct to assume that the Cdn model of the 2005 model does not have XM radio capability? (XM radio not approved yet here)
- Anybody here immediately replace the all-seasons on your new ride with summer performance tires? If so, which ones?

Thanks. I'll lurk for a bit and chip in when I have anything to offer.

Congrats on the purchase. You won't be dissapointed. Many of us came from Audi's and are very happy with the change

A) Correct. Until the CRTC gets their fingers out of their noses and lay off of useless cases like CHOI-FM, we don't get XM or Sirius up here. That is, not with a Canadian system.

B)Not me, but I'm sure some have

I bet you could get away with XM radio aftermarket. If you can pickup the satellite signal... you can have xm. Especially closer to the southern parts of Canada near the US.

Congrats and welcome! Like Alin' said... there's always the aftermarket minus the rediculous OEM price...

Thanks for all the advice and the welcome(s)!

Picked it up tonight on a gorgeous summer Ottawa evening. I'll be breaking it in as per the manual, but man if everybody in the city wasn't driving 30 or less tonight... There just has to be a seniors' convention in town or something.

First impressions
- the tires aren't as bad as I feared. All-seasons have come a long way. I'd still prefer some performance tires but I can live with these. I will be buying dedicated snows and steel wheels in the fall.
- the car feels (and is) bigger than the A4. I miss the go-cart feel of the A4 (especially the smaller but thicker steering wheel) but on the other hand- I feel like I got more car for the money.
- she-who-must-be-obeyed likes it a lot. This is majorly important. She doesn't care about the navi system yet. This will be unimportant until she complains that she got lost somewhere.
- man that voice recognition is fun. I love toys like this!
- very impressed by the trunk space, though I wish the clearance into the trunk was a bit better (wider and lower). Still, nice and roomy.
- I think my enjoyment for this vehicle is only going to increase.

The toy factor only goes up when you get the 6M tranny. Damn it's fun to change gears.

They are a bit noisier than I'd prefer

Feels bigger than it is. I'm still getting used to it. I came from an Integra.
