Need some finger-crossing from my second family

This site and it's members have been like my second family for the better part of the past 3+ years, and many of the things I have been able to do to my Acura's I have learned from here. Unfortunately, due to the economy and things beyond my control I was forced to part with my TL last spring, and since then, I have been working towards being able to get back into a "family" vehicle.

I finally have a shot, filled out the paperwork today for an 06 PWP TSX w/ Navi, 60k miles at only $16,990. Only thing is, I'll be the first one to admit that my credit isn't too good. Income is fine, making the payments are no problem, it's just getting a bank to look past the "past" is whats going to take a small miracle.

The dealer seemed optimistic, but they usually do, and I just wanted to ramble about my situation, maybe I'll get a few prayers or crossed fingers from those who love Acura's as much as I do, and hopefully I'll get good news tomorrow

If there's a way, a dealer will usually find it. Most are pretty tenacious when it comes to not losing a sale. But from what you've insinuated, I have to assume there's a reason why a bank would have second thoughts. If you got in over your head only once, it may be overlooked. A history of biting off more than you can chew? Maybe not. That aside, since you're not what I would call "stealing" the car from them, I'd be surprised if they didn't come up with a lender.

Oh, and good luck with the sale (and the car if you get it)!

Try a credit union. They're usually pretty forgiving and can help you, if you actually can afford the vehicle. Dealer will get you a loan, but it may be some insane 30% interest deal that isn't worth getting. You don't want to pay $60,000 for a $16,000 car. Low notes that last 20 years don't help you. At 16,000 you shouldn't finance longer than 5 years, ever. 3 years would be ideal at that price.

I wish you lots of luck-with so many bad loans out there-it is harder to get finance now. How much of a down payment are you making.
