In need of a new front bumper - where to buy?

So a log rolled off a truck while my wife was driving our 05 TSX on the interstate. She said it wasn't a huge log but a log non the less. It cracked the front bumper and chipped the paint off too. Also looks like it pushed in part of the radiator sheild but no cracks to the radiator. She said she also ran over the log on the right side; front and rear. Going to the shop to have them look at the underside for any damages to the suspension.

So if nothing is wrong with suspension and it is just cosmetic damage I won't bother insurance because prices on the internet for bumpers is less than $200. My question is where to buy and how much is a decent price. I guess since ours is an 05 we might as well upgrade to an 06 bumper.

Thanks for the input,

wouldn't the truck's insurance cover all the damage? If so, I would take it to a shop and let them deal with it.

A new bumper will cost you around $250 unpainted + shipping. Add paint in there and you are looking @ close to $600-$700...more if you cannot do the labor.

Unfortunately she couldn't get any plates or a business name. Because of the tropical storm that came through, people hire any joe with a pickup to clear debris. So I am kind of s-o-l on going after the business. My deductable is $500 so maybe getting insurane involved could be worth it. I will call my insurance guy, he is a track buddy of mine.

less than $200?

you're looking at crap replacement parts.
do not buy them.
especially the front bumper cover.

but an OEM one, trust me.
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...FACE_%28DOT%29

^^there you go.
$265.80 before shipping, worth every penny vs. the cheapies.

and get your insurance involved.
they'll need to paint the hood and the fenders too minimum.
so you're looking at closer to $1000-$2000 for the work.

no, I'm not kidding.
that's how body work goes.

you have a 2005, a 4 year old car.
so all painting needs to be blended into all adjacent panels.

Thanks for the input. I am going to bring the car into the dealership tomorrow to have them inspect the car. It is pulling to the right and now has a nice wobble in the stearing wheel, probably a bent wheel.

Bryan I will get some pictures up tonight if I get some time away from the books.

Edit: Can anyone post a picture of what a 2006 TSX RR front bumper looks like?

sorry, but this will be far more than you're willing to spend for the conversion.
we talked about this in a previous thread.

in order to put an 06 front bumper on an 04-05 you'll need at least the
following:

new grille
new hood
new radiator cover
new foglight harness and fog lights
new dash handle/buttons
new bumper of course
etc.

see, between 05 and 06 the hood changed, the grille changed, the bumper
changed, both bumpers that is, front and back, they added fog lights and
the 06 parts are quite different from the 05 ones. you can't just switch
bumpers, sorry.

kind of off topic a little, but does anyone know if the front reinforcement bar (behind the bumper cover) from an 04/05 will fit an 06+???
