Need the help of a few members

Hi guys,
I need your help. For those of you who have access to a micrometer or a caliper, can you measure the thickness of your key in the front (3 millimeters from tip), the thickness of the "blade" the thinner portion that has the cuts in it, and also the width of the key at the front.

I need it in inches to the .001 -.0001 measurements. My dealership isn't letting me try the key in the glovebox or the rear-shelf, but did agree to see if it slid into the door, which it did.

I appreciate the help guys

aj

Guys, if anybody out there can provide measurements, please do. I'm going to try and pick up a caliper tomorrow if I get a few extra minutes.

If the key works in the ignition and the door, but no other locks in the car, it is a VALET key. It is thicker, and probably a grey color.

Measured one of my original, virtually unused, keys w/ caliper (sorry, no micrometer handy):

0.0985" total thickness
0.0410" thickness of the side blades
0.312" width across two knubs

Some of the above comments aren't quite true. FLBusa initially made keys that worked perfectly fine in TL's, but not in TSX'x, especially the glovebox, trunk/fuel lockout, and rear seat releases. It wasn't related to valet keys. I don't even remember if it was the thickness (at least not directly). The real problem turned out being the sharpness of the milled edges.

that was obviously fixed along the way though.

I have a flbUSA key that works flawlessly in all locks, every single one
of them.

Okay, my measurements varied very slightly from DLTSX6MT's. Unfortunately, all I could find was a cheap digital Caliper. The pictures are for reference only, don't use the measurements on the display, but the ones that appear just below the picture.

Okay, the key blade thickness is .100 (as shown in the picture.)

The thickness of the milled down part is .042

The width to the edge of the channel is .091

The thickness of the blade at the bottom of the channel is .060

And the width of the channel is .050

Again, the pictures are just for reference. And the caliper I used isn't the greatest, but I don't have access to a micrometer right now. And by the way, the measurements referenced below the pictures are from my spare key, which I don't believe has ever been used. And if it has, it's not been used more than once or twice. Hope this helps.
