Need help fast

I got this lady friend of mine whos in love with my HIDs and wants some for herself but doesnt have the money for a HID replacement for her last gen honda accord. i suggest the sylvania hyperstars and i told her to wait for me to make sure before she buys them. so guys, are they almost as good as HIDs? my other friend told me they arnt white at all when he got them for his fog lamps (he has a 2001 gs300 and wanted fogs to be as white as his HIDs)?

if "hyperwhite" lightbulbs produces the same light effect as HID's, HIDs wont be that expensive... Also, aftermarket HID units are not a good idea for cars that came with regular halogen headlamps, because the lamps are not designed for projector type lights, and the glare would blind oncoming traffic

It might have the HID "look" but it will never have the HID amount of light output.

Nothing compares to HID, that's why people go aftermarket kits. No matter what blubs you put in, won't be the same. Ask your *lady* friend to get a TSX and post some pics here...

one of my accords has an aftermarket hid in them. The kits were relatively new at the time (before the kits, they had to be modified from a pre-existing system...sometimes including the housing unit). It cost me $500 at the time (fortunately, my car was broken into the day before I was going to install them...which allowed me to get a 2-way pager alarm from my insurance company).

Before I got the kit, I did some research, as well as experimented with some of the bulbs. The bulbs that you find in auto part stores aren't good. They're usually not as bright (concerned only about looks, not light output). The bluish lights are usually painted blue, which burns off eventually. The lights also don't last as long, so you'll spend quite a bit on replacements (I think they burn out twice as fast, and cost twice as much?)

Anyway, an HID kit is supposed to last longer than the life of your car (if anything goes, it would be the ballast first, and not the bulb). My HID's have been on my car for 5 years or so, and I used to do alot of night driving.

I have never been pulled over for my lights. I can follow a police car for miles, and it doesn't bother them. (they're probably used to many cars having HID's I guess).

The only problem I have is in the rain...all the mist thrown up from the car in front of me lights up (I don't have any yellow fog lights). With a $500 kit though, it's wise to give more space anyway....

the reason why there are reflection from the mist is because the housing on your accord is not meant for projectile HID beams... hence why aftermarket HID kits are illegal, because they do cause unsafe and undesirable driving conditions

If anything, try the Eurolite xenon fusion xb bulbs, they do the job but only last about 2 years. (they are cheap though)
