Navigation System - Not Worth The Money Unless You Need It
I was thinking of purchasing a Navigation system although I didn't really need it since I thought the same amount of money will come back..
Well, just checked KBB..
Used 2004 TSX - 20000miles - no NAV - $23,930
Used 2004 TSX - 20000miles - with NAV - $24,600
Just a $670 difference.. but the price difference when you buy is around $2000.
Just a note for anyone trying to decide

ya seriously its not just a navigation. i never have to call 411 again which saves my cell phone bill $1.25 each call. i just figured out today that you can have the business phone number and it will show the address and how to get there, i thought it was cool. i like how easier it is to turn the A/C on etc.... just the only thing that bugs me is the turn on time. im dying of heat waiting for the OK button to come up . but i love the navi and its totally worth it. you dont think so cause u dont have it

Like he said, its all about preferences...if you have the dough...why not? I was going to opt out for a navi until I tried all the features it could do.
Some say, "well why spend it on a better navi like a pioneer DVD palyer? "
I would do it but I like the clean look on TSX NAVI plus I dont want the hassles of warranty issues if ever breaks down.

Love the Nav - who cares whether other people don't, as reflected in the big drop in resale?
If you spend 27k$ on a car, that's 10k$ more than you need to in order to get something decent. So, we've already established this isn't just transportation. So what's an extra 2k$ if it makes the car 20% more fun to own?!

didn't we have a poll on this?
people bitch it's unjustified $2,000 for a gps - but they don't look at the other intangibles that come with the option...you guys need to mess with this during your test drives!
i will never never ever go without this option on future cars, esp with Acura - they have the best navi system there is; imo it's worth the money.

It is cool that you can look up an address by phone number. I'm so glad I got the Navigation System. It helped me avoid some major traffic jams on some trips I have made.

Oh...and if BIG PIMPIN is reading this...the guy who is 18 getting out of HS and is VERY concerned about attracting females with his car, get the Navi and talk to the car while one of your 16 year old HS girls are in it and and I swear the girls will be just dying to have you pick them up and take them to school!!!

I really don't like having a computer tell me where to turn while I drive. If I miss a turn, then I miss the turn. I've explored many a city that way and it never gets old. Plus, I learn the roads a lot faster than most people because of it.

Best money I ever spend.
I nickle & dime a lot but I am glad I didn't skimp on this option.
Never again will I have the thought "um...where is that ?" flicker thru my mind.
What's beyond me is people who skimped on this and then went on to spend $$ on all kinds of mods
especially the cosmetic ones under the hood.

At first I didn't think I really needed the Nav system, but now that I have it I think it puts the car over the top.
Does the non-navi have #1. voice controls and #2. the trip computer graph, showing estimated MPG while driving. I use the bar chart all the time when I drive the range is 0 to 50 mpgs, when driving uphill the bar graph show like 10-15mpgs and when coasting in neutral it maxes out to 50 mpgs.

When im not familar with a city and I want to go to the nearest McDonalds, or if i need gas and need to get to the closest gas station, these are a couple of the many reasons why I want to get a navi. At first, I didnt think the navi was worth it but after my uncle let me test drive his TL with navi, i was sold. Its a must have!!!!!!

I will never own a new car w/out a nav from now on...
i have become dependent on it. you don't realize how useful it is until you have one...
BTW, i just checked kbb on my car - Private party value used is $28,230 and trade-in is 25125. Can area of living really make that much of a difference?

Navi is basically the best investment I've ever made in a car. Saves me money on maps, printing Mapquest directions, and makes it so I never need to read a map or figure out directions while driving.
Also, the last thing you'd want to be doing is asking for directions after you've gotten yourself lost in a bad spot, like somewhere you don't wanna be in Newark!

Navi is definitely cool. Like everyone is saying, when you get lost in a bad area, then you don't want to get out. When I'm in the bay area around Oakland. I definitely ain't getting out!!
I have a non-navi TSX, but I do have the Pioneer AVIC-N1 with Navigation/mp3/DVD/Tv/Performance Gauges/etc. mounted in the storage compartment area. I didn't have the funding at the time I got the car to get the factory Navi, so I ended up getting it via aftermarket. I'm very glad that I got Navi though!! It helps prevent me from getting lost. I don't use it quite as much as I thought I would, but it's still a very cool feature! Even if I don't use the Navi at least I have all of the other features, and I heard the factory navi has extra stuff too. I feel that this is the best $1400 that I've ever spent!
If you're into electronic gadgets like me, get Navi and You'll love it!
Either way, whether you have Navi or not, the TSX is just a great car!
